If I’m being honest, I was hesitant at first on what my relationship with Papa would look like. I wondered, would I ever feel that closeness again as I was with my dad? And I wondered how he would be with my kids one day… because my dad wanted nothing more than to be a dada. These were just some of the quiet thoughts I carried with me.
But I learned very quickly that my dad and Papa were, in so many ways, one and the same.
I still remember the day Meet proposed to me. Papa pulled me aside and told me he knew he had some pretty big shoes to fill, but that he promised to be the best father he could be to me. And I can say, without hesitation, that he lived up to that promise every single day.
In the short time I had the privilege of calling him my Papa, he filled a hole in my heart that I thought could never be healed. He held me tightly on days I felt weak. He guided me when I felt lost. He became my safe space.
Not many women can say they have an incredible relationship with their father-in-law. But Papa never felt like a father-in-law to me. He’s always been Papa and nothing less than that.
He loved me like his own daughter, right down to the banter, the little arguments, the best head massages, laughing at his corny jokes, DIYing projects together, and sitting together watching YouTube videos. Just like my dad, Papa was a hard worker, deeply family-oriented, and one of the kindest souls I’ve ever known. But the greatest blessing of being his daughter was seeing his love for Ved.
I often wonder what it would have been like if my dad had gotten to meet my son. And while that ache will always live in my heart, how incredibly lucky am I that Bhagwan chose Papa to be Ved’s Dada.
Toward the end of his journey, there’s a moment I’ll never forget. Papa looked at me and apologized, for not staying longer to be my dad. I told him that he had already given me more than I could have ever asked for.
Papa, I miss you more than words can explain. Thank you for loving me. Thank you for fixing my heart when it was broken.
You will always be my Papa. And just like my dad, I will carry you with me, always.

So many of you guys have already made this diy after seeing mine and I’m over the moon about it! Thanks you for sending me all the photos and tagging me in all your photos. 🥺 fyi if your private acct and you tagged me, I can’t see it 😭
I made two versions of this pool, a lotus and a simple gold one for my husband. We had ours separately in our own homes.
I used a kiddie pool I bought from dick’s sporting goods and spray painted a beautiful marigold yellow. I choose to cut the rim off so my petals could sit cleanly.
I then took four poster boards from dollar tree and cut it in the shape of a lotus petal. I then wrapped each petal with a yellow fabric.
The hardest part was putting this pool together! My staples were not long enough so a combination of staples, gorilla glue and hammering down some staples securing it all together.
This pool ended up looking absolutely stunning in all my photos but functionally wise I didn’t foresee the thousands of little holes my staples made. If you attempt this, make sure you hot glue this holes up. Quick fix!
Need less to say, this diy was SO worth it to me, I loved the vibe and the feeling it gave me. I felt like a queen! When will I ever get to say I sat in a lotus and got a flower shower 🤣🌼 Urgh I loved it!
If you’re looking for a more simpler route, consider just spray painting the pool and calling it a day like my husband. It still looked amazing and gave off the right amount of vibes!
