Monstera 'Thai Constellation' 💫
We're starting the year of plant spotlights off with our best-seller of 2025. The Thai Constellation perfectly captures a shift we’ve been seeing across the plant world, and 2025 was the year that rare plants became more accessible than ever before to everyday plant lovers.
For years, the Thai Constellation has been a collector’s item (and it's hard not to see why!) Traditionally limited in supply and high in price, it remained out of reach for many. Thanks to continued advancements in tissue culture, this iconic plant is now being produced more consistently, allowing more people to grow it in their collection without compromising on quality or character.

A year that pushed us, surprised us, and reminded us why we love what we do.
We were honoured to win Gold and Best in Show for our joint exhibit ‘A Reflection of Nature’ at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival, created in collaboration with the incredible Claire and Ben in May.
That same month, we were proud to receive our second Gold medal of the year at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, continuing our Orchid Conservation work alongside 20 global institutions.
In September, we took our biggest leap yet, moving into a four-acre nursery in York, built from the ground up over the past 12 months. It marked an emotional goodbye to our Leeds HQ and hello to GrowTropicals v3.0 as we filled our shelves and settled into our new home.
None of this would have been possible without the incredible support of our customers over the years. We’ve loved packing all your orders, meeting you at events, chatting during livestreams, and supporting your plant care journeys through our online community.
And of course, behind every milestone this year has been an incredible team. Alocasia ‘Lukiwan’ 🌱
This Alocasia is a stunning hybrid of A. sinuata × A. alba, first created by horticulturalist Wawan Santoso at Chong Lee Nursery in the early 2000s. The name ‘Lukiwan’ comes from combining his wife Luki’s name with his own.
A few years ago, it was incredibly difficult to get your hands on, but it has become increasingly available in recent years.
Of all the Alocasia on our shelves, this is the one that never fails to stop us in our tracks when a new leaf appears. Fresh growth emerges with a glossy sheen and a leather-like texture that’s impossible not to love.

Today was an amazing day. A large part of a years planning came to fruition as the Ghost Orchid from our Chelsea Flower Show display bloomed at.
This is the first time this has happened in the UK and is now on display at Kew for the next few days. The buzz around this orchid has been insane and it's been featured on almost every major news outlet in the UK and beyond.
This project would never have been possible without the help of who originally raised the orchid, as well as partners such as and many more!
Big thanks to for looking after the orchid for the last days and for the wider team for helping make this momentous occasion a reality.
Orchids really are the Canary in the coalmine when it comes to ecological health and the conservation of orchids will lead to the conservation of wider environments, flora and fauna.
