Sadly, their owner found themselves no longer able to cope with their needs and, after struggling for quite some time, made the difficult and heartbreaking decision to reach out for help through a local veterinary practice.
With careful planning and some space made available, we were able to step in and bring them safely into our care. π‘
Each of these dogs requires varying degrees of veterinary treatment, rehabilitation and assessment, which will begin this week. As always, this comes with significant cost, but they deserve the opportunity to feel comfortable, healthy and loved. π©Ίπ
Charlie the Cavichon has already enjoyed a much-needed haircut, a warm bath and plenty of TLC βοΈππΆ β and he is already feeling so much better!
We know many people will ask about offering homes, but at this stage we are not accepting applications for these dogs. They have an important journey ahead of them involving veterinary work, recovery and assessments, and we need to understand each of their individual needs first.

Meet Rachel who is a beautiful 2-year-old Lurcher who has sadly not had the best start in life, having come into our care as a stray. She has a very striking appearance and looks very much like she may have some Borzoi in her breeding, making her quite the head-turner. Despite everything sheβs been through, Rachel is a wonderfully sweet, kind and affectionate girl who loves people and is friendly with other dogs too.
Rachel is deaf, but this doesnβt hold her back in the slightest β sheβs adapted brilliantly and lives life just like any other dog. She will need a home that understands her needs and is willing to make a few adjustments to help her thrive, but she will repay that kindness tenfold. Rachel deserves a home where she can finally feel safe, loved and part of a family.

All five are lovely dogs, but heartbreakingly none were claimed by their owners, leaving them facing a very uncertain future.
This is where rescue partnerships matter.
Through the network of trusted rescues and contacts we work with across the UK, we are able to step in and help dogs whose time has run out and whose lives may otherwise be at risk. Sadly, the number of animals needing rescue continues to grow, and working collaboratively with other organisations allows us to help far more animals than any one centre could alone.
These dogs will not be finding their forever homes directly through Greenacres Rescue, but through one of our trusted rescue partners. Before they are ready to complete their rehoming journey, they will need assessments, veterinary care and the time needed to prepare them for the right homes.

Despite this, she has remained a sweet and gentle little girl with so much love to give. Pop absolutely adores people and thrives on attention β sheβs the kind of dog who just wants to be close to you and feel safe.
Pop would love to be the centre of someoneβs world, soaking up all the affection and companionship sheβs been missing. Meet Lily who is a beautiful 1-year-old rough-haired Lurcher with the most gentle, kind nature. Sadly, she didnβt have the best start in life, but despite this she remains a sweet and loving girl who just wants to feel safe and cared for. Lily also suffered with painful inturned eyelids which required corrective surgery, but this has now been successfully done and she has made a full recovery. She is now ready to put the past behind her and find a home where she can truly be loved.
Lily is very dog friendly and would benefit from living with a calm, well-balanced canine companion to help her settle and grow in confidence. She is a sensitive soul who will need a patient and understanding home, but in the right environment she will flourish into a devoted and affectionate companion. Lily really is a special girl who deserves a chance at a happy, secure future

Meet Bluey who is a handsome 3-year-old Collie who sadly came into our care as an unclaimed stray after being abandoned. Despite this, he has all the wonderful traits the breed is known for-heβs loyal, intelligent, observant and always eager to please. Bluey is a lovely boy who forms strong bonds and will make someone a truly devoted companion.
He is excellent with other dogs and already has some very basic training in place, but he will need an owner who understands the breed and is committed to continuing his training and keeping his clever mind occupied. With the right guidance and plenty of love, Bluey has all the makings of a first-class companion and deserves a home where heβll never be let down again.

Meet Luna who is a beautiful 7-year-old Labrador x Rottweiler and an absolute sweetheart. She has the most gentle, loving nature and is a truly happy girl who just wants to be around people.
