Growing up, there was no one larger than life to me than Hulk Hogan. To a young kid, he wasn’t just a wrestler, he was a superhero. The bandana, the mustache, the flexing, the music, the catchphrases, “Whatcha gonna do, brother?” it all captured my imagination and gave me something to believe in. He taught me about strength, loyalty, and standing up for what you believe in, even when the odds are against you.
Meeting him in real life was one of the greatest moments of my life. It’s surreal when the person who inspired you through a screen turns out to be just as impactful in person. Shaking his hand reminded me of how far I’d come from that little kid who used to cheer for him every Saturday morning.
Nobody in this world is perfect, we all have our chapters we don’t read out loud. But what truly defines a legacy is how you evolve and how many lives you touch along the way. Hulk Hogan made millions of kids believe in themselves. He inspired strength in the face of fear. He became a symbol of perseverance and charisma, flawed like any human, but powerful in the way he made people feel.
