I don’t know about you guys but I am a self confessed snacker 🤷🏼♀️ According to my friends and family I also tend to get very hangry very easily - oops 🙃 •
•
•
Soo I always make sure to carry emergency snacks in my bag and even have a stash in my car just in case 🚨
•
•
And snacks are a huge MUST for me when I’m studying. Spending your day studying really is mentally & physically draining 🤯 So I always think it’s a good idea to boost your brain power with a tasty snack 🧠
•
•
Trying to make sure my snacks are as healthy as possible is super important to me 🍓🍏 but this can sometimes be a bit of a struggle on a student budget! •
•
•
And then I found who were kind enough to send me their October box! 🤗 It’s a student friendly subscription box filled to the brim with healthy snacks, green teas and vitamins - annnnd all vegan too! 🐖🐄 •
•
•
Let me know your go-to favourite studying snack! 😋

With my final year of university now started it’s made me think back to my very first year & just how far I’ve come since then! •
•
•
I’m not sure I’ve ever been so nervous as I was the first day I stepped into my halls. There’s nothing quite as daunting as realising not only are you moving away from home & having to completely fend for yourself but you’re doing that amongst a flat full of strangers. 😬 •
•
•
Whether it seems it or not - absolutely everyone is feeling just as nervous & anxious as you are! Throw yourself into uni life in a way which suits YOU. Not everything has to be about drinking & going out all the time. 🤷🏼♀️
•
•
But whatever your results may have been, whichever course you’ll be starting & wherever in the country you may be if you’re in that stressful position where you may not have any accommodation sorted out have a room for you. 🏡 •
•
•
Try every single second of your adventure. Because trust me it will be a total whirlwind & fly be before you even realise what’s happening. 🌪
•
•
Are you going to be starting uni soon? If so - let me know what you’re going to be studying & the thing you’re most looking forward to! ❤️

After a much needed & refreshing summer holiday it’s somehow already time to get back to university 🙇🏼♀️ BUT as daunting as starting a new year can be it’s also important to remember its going to be filled with so many new exciting opportunities & experiences. So time to get stuck back in 💪🏼 If you need an excuse to stock up on more stationery (you guys know me well enough by now to know that I’m too much of a stationery addict to need any excuses 🤷🏼♀️) the start of a new school/college/uni year must be as good as any📚
And so the lovely people at kindly sent me a few of the products to try out, including their amazing EnerGel pens 🖋
I’m notorious for smudging any kind of ink since I hold my pen like a 4 year old 🙄 BUT wow, thanks to their super quick drying ink these pens are even Georgia (and left-handed) proof which definitely says something!
The pack of EnerGel contains 12 different pens all different colours meaning they’re great for using in your planner, for colour coding your notes and to make your revision that little bit brighter 🌞
I know I’m probably going back to uni a bit earlier than some of you guys, but let me know how you prepare for your new academic year & what some of your must have purchases are! 🤗 #StylishStationery #PentelUK

With the chaos of clinical placements over the last few months, I really have felt like I’ve been on full speed & running flat out. 🏃🏼♀️
•
•
Which has meant I’ve not properly taken the time to stop, and think, and to appreciate the things & the people around me. •
•
•
SO a few weeks ago I made the conscious decision to start making some time for a change. And at the end of each day I now write down 3 things which I am grateful for. 🌙
•
•
It sounds like a super simple task but wow has it made such a hugely positive impact on my both outlook on things & my mental attitude. •
•
•
And it’s also sucha lovely way to end your day, instead of worrying & overthinking which I’m usually guilty of. 😴 (Although admittedly it is a little harder some days to think of 3 things than others. 🤷🏼♀️) But, I think even just sitting down and taking the time to process your day is an achievement to be proud of in itself. •

So what 3 things are you grateful for today? ❤️

Tomorrow marks the last day of my 6 week placement in neurosurgery. 🧠
•
•
To say it’s been a smooth ride would be a tad of a lie, me & neurosurgery have had a bit of a love hate relationship. 🎢
•
•
I never really thought of myself as a surgically orientated person anyways, but having very little previous experience in theatres I thought now would be a good chance to at least give it ago! •
•
•
And surprise surprise, I’m very much not a surgery kinda girl. 🤦🏼♀️ It’s not only my (very limited) knowledge of neuroanatomy & neuro pathologies which has been put to the test, but also my resilience. •
•
•
Surgeons in general have a certain reputation & stigma attached to them, and none more so I don’t think than neurosurgeons. Who are jokingly described as, well, a bit self obsessed & intense. 🤷🏼♀️
•
•
And so being the annoyingly stubborn person I am I wanted to see if I could stand my own in the operating theatre.🙅🏼♀️ •
•
•
I may not have enviable suturing skills or the dexterity of a surgeon, but I gave my all to everything & anything which was thrown at me. 💪🏼 I hope it’s fair to say I gave as good as I got in the operating room & have ended up pretty good friends with the neurosurg team. •
•
•
I may not be the most likely looking surgeon, but why should stereotypes stop you from taking a shot at your dreams? ❤️ So whilst I’m going to be glad to see the back of neurosurg, I’m very grateful for everything which the experience & the people have taught me along the way. •

The PSA stands for Prescribing Safety Assessment & is an exam all final year med students must take & pass before graduating. 💊
•
•
Now prescribing is something I quite enjoy, nothing quite as satisfying as finding the correct medication & filling in a drug card. 🤷🏼♀️
•
•
BUT. Drug calculations are a whole other story. Me & maths have never ever been friends. 😤 For as long as I can remember it’s the subject I have had the most and the longest battles with.
•
•
Whilst EVERYONE at med school seems like a math whizz - for some reason my brain just likes to take three times longer than everyone else whenever numbers appear. 😵
•
•
I get so frustrated when I just can’t even make sense of the numbers in front of me nevermind know what I’m supposed to do with them. 🙄 But that feeling when things do finally start falling into place & making sense is worth ten times as much because I know how hard I’ve had to work. 🤗
•
•
And of course even the most difficult & frustrating of topics can be made that little bit better by some chocolate biscuits & a coffee the size of your head. 🤷🏼♀️
•
•
So today I am owning the fact that I am absolutely terrible at maths. What is your “flaw” that you’re going to own today? ❤️

•
•
I’ve spent the last few weeks with a to-do list as long as my arm & no matter how hard I try it seems to grow rather than get shorter. 🤔 •
•
•
I’m forever wishing for more hours in the day rather than concentrating on the task in front of me. Which isn’t too great for my productivity levels. 🙄 And when you’re not pushing through that to-do list it’s soso easy to end up getting disheartened & feeling like your efforts just aren’t good enough. 🙇🏼♀️
•
•
So sometimes we all need that little reminder that actually, we’re doing pretty damn good despite whatever silly things we might be thinking. All efforts, no matter their size, are equal & what REALLY counts is the fact you’re turning up in the first place. ❤️
•
•
I’ve decided to try a new tactic and take the task I want to do the absolute LEAST and tackle it head on first. 💪🏼 And then everything else afterward hopefully won’t seem so bad. 🤷🏼♀️
•
•
So I hope this week you can all truly get your hustle on. 💪🏼 And always always remember - you’re doing much better than your head will let you think. ❤️

After #internationalwomensday last week I’ve been thinking a lot about how I’ve been soso lucky to have so many influential & inspiring women in my life. Many of whom have shaped me and my journey without even realising it. ✨ •
•
•
From family members, friends & teachers to colleagues who I work with on the wards. And even you guys, who inspire me each day by being so committed to working for your dreams. •
•
•
BUT it shouldn’t have taken a specified day for me to appreciate these people & all that they have done for me. SO, tell me who has been the biggest inspiration in your life? 💛
•
•
In the past I’ve been guilty of running away from responsibilities & pretending they don’t exist. 🙇🏼♀️ So my new go-to way of keeping myself accountable is by spending my Sunday evening planning out the week ahead. 🗓
•
•
I’ve been using for the past few weeks now & it has revolutionised my life - it’s doing the perfect job of keeping me organised but also grateful & reflective 🤗

So my first week of my paediatric oncology rotation has come & gone already 🤗
•
•
Quite honestly I had prepared myself for the worst with this placement. For coming home feeling helpless & heartbroken. 🙇🏼♀️ And yet I have never heard wards echoing with so much laughter & clinics filled with so much joy & gratitude. •
•
•
Each day I am astounded by the bravery & resilience of the kids & families I meet, who thrive despite life throwing the very worst of things at them. •
•
•
From the 18 year old boy being accepted into Oxford university whilst battling osteosarcoma & undergoing a leg amputation. 🙌🏼 To the 4 year old girl who had the biggest smile & stole my heart while we played with her dolls all WHILST undergoing chemo.
•
•
There’s soso many more stories just like these I could share with you guys and I’ve only been doing it a week! 🤯 I think after changing my mind countless times throughout med school already, I might just have found where my passion truly lies. ❤️

Also - these notes are available along with lots of others in my Etsy shop, the link is in my bio! 🤗
