The Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center integrates elite training, community, and hospitality within a carefully crafted environment that supports performance, belonging, and the long-term future of soccer in America.

📸:
Today we celebrate the ribbon cutting of the Arthur M. Blank U.S. Soccer National Training Center, the new home and headquarters of, designed to serve all 27 National Teams for generations to come.

Inspired by the timeless restraint of iconic sporting campuses like Wimbledon and Augusta National, the design prioritizes craft, longevity, and a sense of belonging over trend-driven expression. Natural stone and warm wood create a calm, grounded environment where excellence is communicated through proportion and light. A folded glass lobby signals arrival with quiet ceremony. A dining and nutrition hub anchors daily life and brings together everyone—from senior national team players to youth teams—for an inclusive experience you won’t find anywhere else.

With over 200,000 square feet of performance facilities, locker rooms, meeting spaces, and offices, and more than a dozen outdoor fields alongside 100,000+ square feet of indoor courts, the National Training Center supports every dimension of the federation’s work: training, recovery, analysis, administration, and innovation.

The National Training Center was designed with care and intention to serve all nine Extended National Teams, including athletes competing on the Cerebral Palsy, Deaf, and Power Soccer National Teams, with fully accessible locker rooms, circulation routes, training spaces, and support areas.

This is a campus that is quietly confident, deeply inclusive, and built to inspire the future of soccer in the United States.

A huge congratulations to the Gensler winners of this year's Premiere Design Awards!

The Premiere Design Awards honor outstanding projects and people from local firms and highlights the work shaping our region’s design landscape.
Football fans flying into Pittsburgh for the NFL Draft this weekend will get their first taste of the city through something worth arriving early for — the new terminal at Pittsburgh International Airport.

Designed by Gensler + HDR in association with luis vidal + architects, the 811,000-square-foot terminal was built from the ground up around one idea: Pittsburgh itself.

An undulating roofline echoes the rolling hills of Western Pennsylvania. Tree-like steel columns rise into a canopy that feels more forest than terminal. Four outdoor terraces bring in fresh air and native greenery, a rarity in American airport design. And over 80% of the art inside is created by local artists sharing the city’s story.

Beyond its beauty, the airport terminal is designed for efficiency with curb-to-gate now 50% faster. The entire passenger journey, from ticketing, to security, to baggage, and ground transport, flows through one intuitive structure. PIT sets a new standard of excellence as the first airport in the world powered entirely by its own microgrid.

A curtain wall that mirrors the Potomac. Townhome stoops that nod to Georgetown. A winding pedestrian walkway lined with masonry details borrowed from DC's historic neighborhoods. is DC distilled into a single building.

Part of, a seven-acre mixed-use development at, the 14-story, 413-unit tower sits alongside two neighboring residential buildings, connected by shared retail, green roofs, and amenity spaces, and a bridge that links directly to the tower next door. At the heart of it all, a pedestrian-only cobblestone street threads through the site and out into the neighborhood.

The building's material language shifts as it rises: masonry and precast stone at the base give way to glass at the top, where views of the Potomac River, Washington Channel, and Anacostia River come together as one. A double-height lobby, rooftop lap pool, garden courtyard, and second-floor library lounge round out the program — a new kind of DC address, where the city meets the water.

Three problems shaped this project. How do you move hundreds of daily visitors through a secure headquarters without it feeling institutional? How do you convince traditional leadership that design is a strategic tool, not a cosmetic one? And how do you make chemistry, an invisible science, the organizing idea for a building?

For this confidential national science organization, Gensler DC answered all three in a 90,000-square-foot workplace in Washington, DC. Circulation was resolved through a reimagined spine and sculptural feature wall that sequences movement from entry through compression toward light-filled perimeter gathering spaces.

Leadership was brought into the process through collaborative working sessions, immersive 3D walkthroughs, and a trip to the millwork shop, replacing formal presentations with shared ownership.

The material palette was drawn entirely from chemistry itself: charred wood, patinated metal, laminate acoustical ceilings. The science isn't referenced. It's present.

Delivered through tenant improvement dollars while reducing overall lease costs, this interior design and architecture project is, for an institution 150 years in, oriented entirely toward what comes next.
🏄 Our latest hotel project is now open!

is a new boutique surf lodge at the heart of, a first-of-its-kind indoor-outdoor destination that redefines the Virginia Beach oceanfront experience.

The hotel is designed with simplicity and presence as the guiding principles. Twenty rooms, a pool deck that feels like a backyard, and light-filled spaces move with the rhythm of the coast, allowing guests to fully immerse themselves in the local surf culture and all the amenities that Atlantic Park has to offer.

The design of Atlantic Park was a collaboration between Hanbury, Gensler, and Cooper Carry.
At Resort in Pennsylvania, Gensler designed several distinct spaces that showcase the resort’s commitment to offering guests a dynamic range of experiences.

One of those spaces was PJ’s Ice Cream Parlor. Named after the CEO’s son, this immersive space is designed to spark imagination and joy. The atrium welcomes guests with a vibrant color palette inspired by sprinkles, setting the tone for the whimsical attractions inside. An ice cream parlor, an artist-in-residence program, and a hands-on craft studio provide creative outlets for visitors of all ages.

A nostalgic '90s-style arcade, a kids’ camp, and a playful indoor kids pool add layers of fun and discovery. The design of PJ’s balances high-energy excitement with calming, creative spaces. While most areas explode with color and movement, the art studio offers a neutral, serene palette to encourage focus and artistic expression. Every element, from the interactive exhibits to the outdoor gathering spaces, fosters connection and delight.

A collaboration between Gensler’s DC and Charlotte teams, this project brings together deep local insight and a strong client partnership to reimagine Parker Poe’s new DC home. Client trust and shared vision shaped a workplace grounded in equity, transparency, and connection.

Warm, refined, and intentionally collegial, the 13,746 SF office at 900 7th Street NW in downtown Washington DC rethinks the traditional law firm environment. Fully glazed office fronts invite daylight deep into the plan, dissolving boundaries and creating a sense of openness throughout.

Corner offices give way to shared collaborative zones—an intentional move that reflects a cultural shift toward a more egalitarian workplace. The welcoming gesture of the café at the entry establishes a sense of social connection, setting the tone for interaction and ease.

Circulation flows intuitively, and reception feels approachable—creating a natural arrival experience that draws people in.
Planning reinforces equity at every level. Offices are consistent in size, furnishings are standardized, and height-adjustable desks are provided for all. Integrated storage and clean lines keep the space efficient, while warm materiality and refined detailing strike a balance between polish and comfort.

Set just steps from Capital One Arena in Chinatown—an area currently being reimagined by Gensler—the workplace taps into the district’s evolving,
magnetic energy and strong urban connection, offering Parker Poe’s staff and clients a vibrant, city-centered experience.
Future Standard’s new Philadelphia headquarters blurs the line between office and museum, and every inch of it is intentional.

The diverse art collection isn’t an afterthought. It’s woven into the DNA of the space, rotating throughout and elevating every corridor, lounge, and workspace into something closer to a gallery experience. But the architecture holds its own.

Drawing from the spirit of Louis Kahn’s Philadelphia legacy, the design is built on disciplined geometry, strong planes, and a restrained palette of exposed concrete, plaster, wood, glass, and stainless steel. Ceilings soar past 15 feet. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame views of Center City, University City, and even stretch towards the Art Museum. Natural light does the heavy lifting, carefully choreographed through luminous ceilings and glazed openings, washing surfaces and reinforcing a sense of calm and permanence.

Nothing here is accidental. Exposed mechanical systems were approached with surgical precision, with ductwork, pipes, and cabling integrated into the architecture rather than hidden from it. Freestanding pavilions are built from Unifor systems, not drywall. Furniture and credenzas were handcrafted by local Philadelphia area apprentices through, and custom textiles sourced from local weaver,, ground the space in the city it calls home.

Spanning four floors at Schuylkill Yards, the space balances open collaboration with quiet focus and routinely opens its doors to Philadelphia community groups entirely. This is what it looks like when performance, place, and craft converge.
