Bobby and Holly were a popular bonded pair at the shelter, but Bobby developed a medical condition that required foster care. Holly missed her mate at the shelter, so when it became clear that Bobby needed longer term care, Bobby’s foster family took in Holly and the rest is history! They are so happy to be back together with their new family!

She buzzed through a few softer collars to pick at her surgical wound so our friends at Niles Animal Hospital had to get a little creative. While it was unwieldy to say the least, it kept Moose away from her wound long enough for it to heal, and we got some memorable moments like these along the way!

Moose has been living with us since 2019 and became our very first foster fail in 2020. She did not get along with other lovebirds at the shelter, and quickly figured out how to break out of her cage at the shelter and got her toe bit pretty good one night. She was later experiencing severe egg-binding and needed a life-saving surgery.
We took her into foster care while she was in her adorable recovery cone and the rest was history. She’s a strong independent lady who’s perfectly happy shredding paper on her own, but she’ll let us know when she wants to cuddle on a shoulder or hand. She started going blind a couple of years ago, but she knows her cage like the back of her…wing? idk…and that hasn’t stopped her from running to her door every night to let us know when it’s bed time!

Then it blew up. Then it exploded. Then some viral video accounts started DMing me to license it? Idk seemed sus so I didn’t do it.
This silly little video helped boost our visibility and create opportunities for our shelter that I never would have imagined. And sure, it would have been nice to make some more money for the shelter off of the original reel, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything that came after.
Plus, I still own the video, so I can spend a weekend making this extremely dumb reel as a way to celebrate and say thank you to everyone who’s stuck with us these past 2 years.
