Here we are, folks!

This is the day Garviel Loken realized Chaos was real.
Deep in the Whisperhead Mountains, the Captain of the 10th Company of the Luna Wolves went searching for Sergeant Xavyer Jubal.

In front of him stood a brother... who was no longer his brother.

I wanted to capture the moment that hit me hardest from the first book of The Horus Heresy. That silence on the descent before the betrayal. Darkness, fog, and something you can’t quite name.

What would you have done in his place?

And here we are, folks!

Warhammer 40k is back on this page!

Shythes of the Emperor.

Redrawn with the look of the short Astartes (which is now my favorite look for the Astartes and which I'm applying to all my pieces in this universe).

As you know, I'm not an expert on this universe, and I admit, when I saw these chapters in the Robotsvdinosaurs design stories a while ago, I thought they were custom chapters, and only when I started working on this piece did I see their canon story.

And damn! It's definitely cool! And this is my piece dedicated entirely to them.

My first Marathon piece!

And is entirely focused on a "generic" Runner, who is none other than the character we see running in the first trailer. And with a small change, he becomes much cooler (forgive me, but the purple helmet was just out of place for me).

I read that this character later became one we see in the game, but what I'm wondering is: is it really a bad thing to leave "generic" characters? Do they have to be so distinctive that they have strange headgear?
I remember a time when in video games, soldiers were soldiers and you could tell right away, pilots were pilots, etc. The characters didn't need lipstick or strange headgear (regardless of whether they were sci-fi, cyberpunk, or something else)... I don't know if I can convey the idea.

Marathon is a strange game to me. It has a visual style that completely captivates me (characters in reserve), but the gameplay isn't really my cup of tea (and obviously, that's not the game's fault).

And this is the limbo I find myself in with this game. And that's why I wanted to try something new...

We all know how cool the Spartans II are, but I think we forget about these guys too often.

I think the Spartans III are among the most underrated Halo characters. Their canonical history (especially the early companies) could be a great plot for a standalone Halo game or series.

This piece is a scrapped version of a commission I did not long ago that I worked on in my spare time.

This big guy is armed with an SRS99C-S2 AM (in its HCE version) and a silenced SMG.

The Mirage (along with the Mjolnir MK V) is the most accomplished re-style of Halo Infinite in my opinion, and although canonically it is a later version of the classic SPI, I think it's a perfect visual update for that armor.

Young ODST Tarkov wasn't so lucky this time...

Over the years, I've painted several pieces based on my vision of the Halo universe. Most of them reimagine the UNSC, with its Spartans, Marines, ODSTs, etc. It's time to give the other faction a redesign as well.

As you know, I'm a big fan of the Elites (both as enemies in the games and as Halo characters), but these big "apes" have also earned a small place among my favorite in-game "enemies."

I'll say right away that my favorites are the brutes we see in H2A-H3 and H-Reach, each for different reasons. The H2A ones, in my opinion, have the best physical appearance, the H3 ones have the best armor, while the H-Reach ones (despite not being a community favorite) have that touch of roughness that I've always appreciated more than the H2 ones.

So for this piece, I aimed to blend these elements. The physical appearance of this beast is that of H2A, with a more flattened snout and a wider mouth that reveals its teeth. The armor's shapes are inspired by those of H3, with the return of their iconic helmet. For the coloring, I decided to bring in something that didn't make it into the finished game, taking inspiration from Isaac Hannaford's original concepts. From Halo Reach, I tried to bring back some decorative elements and the use of different straps and bands on the body. And of course, he had to be armed with their Brute Spiker. And of course, in this piece, I had to try to showcase their brutality on the battlefield, taking trophies from the enemies they kill.

And that's all for this piece, what do you think?

W40k meets Halo again!

If the ODSTs are Astartes, the Spartans can only be Primaris!

Second piece based on this strange meshup of two universes I love, and obviously I couldn't help but choose the Blue Team for this piece.

As with the ODSTs, I tried to redesign the characteristic pieces of Spartan armor to make them visually work in the 40k universe. The helmet takes its inspiration from the front of the classic Blue Team Spartan helmet, simplifying its shape and incorporating it into the Primaris helmet shell. The chest plate is inspired by the iconic MK IV and features the numbers of each Spartan along with the project logo, which for this meshup was redesigned to blend in with the Imperial eagle. The shoulders and legs are redesigned to carry some references to their Mjolnir counterpart, with more regular geometric shapes but still very heavy like the Primaris ones. Each team member carries a heavy boltor and a redesigned boltor pistol to match the scope of the Halo M6, along with extra magazines.

And for these guys, I tried to find the right balance between the Primaris and Spartan look.

And Here We Are Folks!

This is what happens when W40k meets Halo!

ASTARTES - ODSTs ready to jump into hell!
Tactical Team Alpha Nine. Obvious transposition of the team we see in Halo 3 ODST.

When I started working on this piece, the first question I asked myself was: how do I merge two universes with very different designs?

Choosing the Astartes as a base, I tried to redesign the characteristic pieces of the ODST armor to make them work visually in the 40k universe. Starting with the helmet, I inserted the characteristic ODST visor inside the Astartes helmet shell, redesigning part of the cheekpieces and adapting its shape. The ODST chest plate mounts as a reinforcement to the classic Astartes chest armor. The shoulders and legs are redesigned with shapes that reflect the bulk of their original ODST counterparts. As for their weapons, I didn't completely change the original look of the boltor, but I did equip it with a silencer for some team members and a scope and an extended stock for the group's marksman.

Overall, I tried to find the right balance between the bulky look of the Astartes Firstborn and the more compact design of the ODSTs.

Today, a piece dedicated entirely to the Retributors and the Astartes short.

It's no secret that I've become increasingly passionate about Warhammer 40k in recent years, but I've never revealed what made me passionate about this great universe.

It was the Astartes short that started to visually connect me to this universe, and everything grew from there, growing stronger and stronger until now. And I can't wait to see the second one, which looks magnificent.

Now, I don't exactly call myself an expert—in fact, I'm still a novice—but I can say without hesitation that these guys are awesome. And the Retributors visually embody my ideal Astartes. I love their proportions and their essential nature. Their armor doesn't have excessive heraldry, nor are it full of colors or ostentatious details; they are what an Astartes is meant to be: a heavy front-line soldier.

This is the first time I've dedicated a piece to these guys, and I hope you appreciate it. It's a little late compared to many others, but that's because I think I've only now developed the skills to bring you a piece about them...

Today, a piece depicting the contemporary CSH Denel Rooivalk, a South African attack helicopter during a mission.

This is my first time doing a piece about a helicopter, and I have to admit it was a lot of fun and interesting.

I definitely want to do more pieces set in modern times, both about characters and vehicles and aircraft. This is the second this year, following the CoD character piece.

What do you think? Would you like to see more pieces like this?
Of course, I'll never abandon the themes I've already covered; sci-fi will always be a big part of my love, followed, as you know, by ancient and medieval history (with the first pieces coming soon), and fantasy.

And here we are, folks!

An officer, defiant of danger, urges his men to charge during a night battle.

A piece about World War I painted not long ago. It's part of a writing project for an alternative version of how things happened.
I'm increasingly fascinated by this period of history, which I admit I've never delved into in depth.

I'll be back working on new historical pieces soon. I hope to return to ancient Rome and Greece, maybe do some mythology pieces, which I wouldn't mind at all, and something about the Middle Ages will be coming this year.
