Grundborg earned his bachelor’s degree in 1960 and his master’s in 1966 — both in civil engineering. He missed his ceremony when the called him to serve his country. He spent 20 years with the Army Corps of Engineers, also serving in the 82nd Airborne Division, the Rangers, and the Pathfinders.
