Fired Up is one of my favourite garlic dips in Dublin and it might just be my favourite Neapolitan-style pizza too. With a personal rating of 9, it’s hard to find garlic dips that compete with it due to it’s size, thick texture and garlic strength 🧄

Now that I’m a Wicklow man, I’ve been on the hunt for what garlic dip the “Garden County” has to offer. I stopped by recently for brunch and it was lovely. It’s hard to beats some eggs, avocado, toast and of course a garlic dip. The place was packed and the staff were so friendly. My only regret was not getting a pastry when I left.
The garlic dip was quite light on the strength but I was having it early in the morning so I didn’t mind. That being said it had the perfect texture that I look for in a dip as it was very creamy but not watery. The flavour was fresh garlic with no real hints of anything else but I really enjoyed it. I’ll have to again for a pizza and see how it pairs then. From what I recall, there was no charge for the garlic dip when I asked and it wasn’t on the menu but I could be wrong!
First time going to earlier this year and it did not disappoint! 👀 I made sure to get the whole lot - Pepperoni pizza, birria tacos, arancini, pulled pork burger and some cannoli to finish. I’ve been following them for a while and they recently opened their first sit-down location in Arklow which I’ll have to go to soon.
In terms of their garlic dip, it was held to a high standard with the rest of their food. The strength was solid and you could tell that fresh garlic was used. The consistency was pretty good also but personally I would have liked it a bit thicker and heavier. In terms of the overall flavour, it tasted buttery to me so I wonder if butter or some cream was used or maybe just a lot of mayo whilst still giving a roasted taste. Either way, this is definitely a lovely dip and it impressed me how all of their food was unreal despite having several different options and styles. The dip was €2.50.
is known as one of Irelands best chippers since 1913 and considering I haven’t been in several years, it’s great to see that nothing has changed. I’m jealous of the people who live in Howth due to their variety of restaurants, takeaways and pubs in their town. Of course, Burdock’s was packed when we went in.
No notes on the fish, it was beautiful and had the perfect amount of crispiness in the batter whilst being light and fresh.
When it comes to the dip, it had a weaker garlic strength than I usually like but what won me over was the consistency. It was one of the thickest dips I’ve had and chippers usually are known for having better garlic dips. The overall flavour was a mayo heavy dip with a healthy garlic tang that pairs perfectly with some fish and chips. It’s also a huge dip for €3 which seems to be rare these days.

It’s been a struggle to find a new contender when it comes to buying garlic dip in the shops but I think might just be the new kid. It’s no secret that my favourite garlic dip you can buy in bottles are, and
and if you’re a fan of them, you’ll definitely be a fan of Frontier Foods (especially if you want a gluten free dip).
This dip was sent out for me to try and I’ve been back and forth with the Frontier Foods team for over two years, as they perfected a garlic sauce they were proud of. I’ve always been a fan of their roasted peppers and I had no idea they were delving into the dip game.
The strength is almost perfect in my eyes when it comes to a bottle you keep in the fridge. I devoured half of it on my first tasting and I still taste garlic for an hour or two later. The consistency is similar to that of a caesar dressing but slighty thicker with plenty of dip staying on whatever vehicle you use. The overall flavour is a fresh garlic zest with hints of lemon and vinegar.
This dip just launched in a few weeks ago at €3.25 and if you’re in there soon I highly suggest picking up a bottle! My video review will be in the next post.

The views were breathtaking and the venue is one of the most cosiest and relaxing places I’ve ever stayed at. From their outdoor sauna and ice bath to their bar where we sang, danced and played music, this weekend definitely made me proud to be Irish 🇮🇪
I’ve seen very little of Northern Ireland and this has opened my eyes to spending more time up there! I know this is very different to my usual content but it’s thanks to this page that I get opportunities to do things like this and meet new people.
