« Lifes began as a consideration of the promises and pitfalls of interdisciplinary artmaking and the legacy of the so-called total work of art (Gesamtkunstwerk)—a concept originating in the 19th century that proposes a synthesis of poetic, visual, musical, and dramatic arts. The notion of interdisciplinarity has since become a mainstay of contemporary art museums and other presenting organizations. Rather than assume that cross-disciplinary collaboration is a recipe for innovation and creative enrichment, Lifes acknowledges the inherent incompatibilities at play between traditional artistic disciplines and within the spaces of art’s display. »

L’Assessorato alla Cultura e Spettacolo del Comune di Cagliari e i Musei Civici presentano la mostra antologica di Giovanni Campus “Tempo in processo – Opere 1965 – 2021” a cura di Marco Meneguzzo.
All’interno della Galleria Comunale d’Arte, al piano superiore, sono esposte diciannove opere pittoriche, che coprono un ampio arco cronologico della produzione artistica di Campus che, partendo dagli anni Sessanta per arrivare fino ad oggi, esemplifica il processo di ricerca che l’artista ha compiuto attraverso lo spazio e il tempo, quest’ultimo inteso come tempo esistenziale.
All’esterno dei Giardini Pubblici è invece possibile ammirare “Tempo in processo” installazione ambientale, generosamente donata da Giovanni Campus, e strategicamente inserita al confine tra i Giardini e l’affaccio verso il paesaggio urbano, a suggellare il legame tra l’arte e la sua capacità di dialogare con lo spazio circostante. L’iniziativa rientra nel progetto a cura dell’Assessorato alla Cultura e Spettacolo guidato da Maria Dolores Picciau, che prevede la creazione di un grande museo a cielo aperto nei parchi e nelle aree verdi della Città, con sculture realizzate da autori di diversa provenienza e sensibilità artistica. L’imponente scultura, realizzata nel 2018, si presenta come una sorta di grande L, costituita da una struttura metallica forgiata dai maestri carpentieri dell’azienda dei F.lli Argiolas di Cagliari, sponsor dell’opera insieme a Sardegna Marmi di Orosei, ai quali si deve il marmo biancone di Orosei.
Completa e arricchisce la mostra alla Galleria Comunale, la mini-esposizione con alcune opere dell’artista all’aeroporto “Mario Mameli” di Cagliari Elmas, nell’area delle partenze, adiacente alla Biblioteca, che darà la possibilità ai turisti, ma anche ai tanti sardi che necessitano di spostarsi per lavoro, di scoprire in anteprima ciò che troveranno all’interno del Museo.

Dall’1 al 5 settembre, Immersiva, in collaborazione con Bright Festival, darà vita ad una fantasmagoria di immagini, luci e suoni che valorizzerà l’arte di Pietro Mascagni e l’imponenza architettonica del Palazzo. Uno scenario iconico per un’espressione artistica (videomapping) che ha la capacità di reinterpretare gli edifici e i monumenti per dare forma a un nuovo modo di raccontare l’arte e la cultura.
