MUG Coffee & Clay brings together small-batch coffee roasting and ceramics under one roof, founded by Hannah and Luis as a community-driven coffee bar and ceramic workspace. The challenge was to create a brand that captures this duality, balancing craft and creativity, warmth and boldness, while the physical space was still taking shape.
Kees Holterman developed a playful yet confident identity built around a distinctive ampersand formed by a coffee drip and a ceramic mug, symbolizing the union of two passions. The system is scalable and instantly recognizable, translating seamlessly across touchpoints and brought to life through warm, tactile photography by. The result is a brand that feels as handcrafted and communal as the space itself.
