✨Walking through Nakamise Street, the traditional market leading to the temple, you reach the Kaminarimon Gate with its massive red lantern, one of Tokyo’s most iconic sights.
💭A lot of people don’t like Sensoji because it’s always crowded, but honestly it didn’t bother me at all.
Actually, without all these people, my shots wouldn’t have looked this perfect.

📌Myth busted: you don’t have to go super early! I visited in the afternoon and still enjoyed the temple. There were people, but not too crowded.

♥️Welcome to one of the temples I enjoyed the most during my trip.
Not only because it is incredibly beautiful, but because of the meaningful tradition that lives here.
Katsuo-ji Temple, in Osaka, is known for its Darumas ✨traditional symbolic figures that represent goals, perseverance and determination.
The tradition begins when you buy a Daruma:
you paint one eye while making a wish or setting a goal.
When that goal is fulfilled, the second eye is painted
and the daruma is returned to the temple as a gesture of gratitude 🙏
📌📆At the end of the year, once their cycle is complete,
darumas are brought back to the temple and ceremonially burned as part of Daruma Kuyo, a ritual that expresses gratitude, respect and the symbolic closure of a wish and preparation for new beginning🔥
📌And since the burning happened just a few days ago, I wanted to start this temple series right here.
💌 In Japan, even letting go is part of moving forward.

-I’m usually more of an iced coffee person, but this is when I most feel like drinking hot drinks.
-It’s the season for soups, ramen, cozying up on the sofa with a blanket, and going for walks in the snow with my supplies of mulled wine, coffee or hot chocolat.

❤️🔥I wear Uniqlo thermal leggings and a thermal top, gloves, some heat patches that they sell in supermarkets (when it’s really cold), and a scarf. I don’t wear hats because I feel like I look like an egg when I wear them 😅 But I do wear earmuffs when it’s necessary 🧤🧣
A warm down jacket, snow boots, a backpack, and depending on the elevation my hiking sticks, sometimes they’re necessary

-Una buena chaqueta de plumas, botas de nieve, una mochila y dependiendo de la altitud, mis bastones de senderismo 🥾
