“Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
— 1 Corinthians 13:7

36 years of a love that has shielded their children, been accountable to God, anchored in His faithfulness, and persevered through suffering into glory. Love never fails!

Happy Anniversary Daddy and Amma!
On the Cross, Christ gave everything for His Bride.
In the Resurrection, He raised that love to new life.
At the altar, that same love became the foundation of your covenant.

We celebrate the First Friday of the Season of Resurrection, the Friday after Good Friday, as All Saints Day in the Syro Malabar Catholic Church. This day is a remembrance of all the saints and martyrs of our Church.

A special thanks to St. Mark’s Catholic Church for allowing us at St. Mary’s to pray in the presence of some of these dear saints.

First-class relics of St. Paul, St. Thomas the Apostle, St. Andrew, St. Antony of Padua, St. Vincent de Paul, St. Alphonsa, St. Euphrasia, St. Kuriakose Chavara, and St. Mariam Thresia were present. There was also a relic of Blessed Kunjachan and a relic stone associated with St. Michael the Archangel.
Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only but also my hands and my head!”
- John 13:9

It has been a privilege to enter into the washing of the feet on Holy Thursday over the years. In this ceremony, we encounter Jesus, the Lord of heaven and earth, who kneels before His disciples. The One whom angels adore becomes a servant, showing us that true greatness is found in humility.

Through this act, He teaches us that love is not about being served, but about giving ourselves for others. To follow Him is to die to ourselves and live in self-giving love.

“The men were amazed and said, ‘What sort of man is this, whom even the winds and the sea obey?
— Mathew 8:27

In the Eucharist, we encounter the same Jesus who commanded the winds and the sea and brought them to stillness. The almighty power that holds the universe in harmony is tenderly veiled in the humble form of bread.

Some of us young priests from the St. Thomas Syro Malabar Diocese of Chicago came together for a few days of prayer and fellowship at St. Joseph’s Oratory in Montreal, Canada. This is the largest church in the world dedicated to St. Joseph, and it was a profound blessing for us to be there.

We were especially grateful to have Fr. Jomon Kalladanthiyil, C.S.C., guide us through the Oratory and share with us the inspiring story of St. André Bessette. The Oratory is a place of countless miracles and healings, and we were deeply moved by our time there in Montreal.

Some of the most powerful moments for me included: participating in the Holy Mass at the Oratory, praying at the tomb of St. André, and climbing the stairs on our knees—a traditional act of devotion. It was a beautiful pilgrimage of grace, and a special time for us to seek the intercession of St. Joseph, patron of the Universal Church and Model of Fatherhood.

also if you made it here, feel free to caption our young Syro priest gathering…😂👍
During the Christmas Mass at St. Peter’s Basilica in 2016, I had the blessing of personally asking Pope Francis to pray for our St. Thomas Syro Malabar Diocese of Chicago.

He kindly said he would. The following year, in 2017, shortly after I was ordained a Deacon, I once again approached the Holy Father before the Corpus Christi Mass. I asked him to remember me in his prayers—that I might become a good and faithful priest—and I requested his blessing on two stoles, which I still use to this day. He graciously said he would.

At the end of both encounters, he looked at me and simply said, “Prega per me”—“Pray for me.” Today, we do just that. We mourn and pray for the repose of the soul of our beloved Holy Father, Pope Francis.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.
