The Israeli military is using the Dahiya doctrine (like in 2006) to collectively punish the largely Shia base’s support for Hezbollah and hit Shia areas of the country most acutely. The bombings hit in the South in the Beqaa Valley and in the Dahiyeh suburb of Beirut to prevent the Shia people from returning to their home and lands, even after the end of the war. For people of the Shia community it’s extremely hard to find rental in all of the safe areas of Lebanon. Many are wondering what this situation of internal instability will lead to.
