I spent the last Sunday of October in Collobrières (about a 1.5-hour drive from Cannes and 2 hours from Nice), the Var’s chestnut capital, wandering between market stalls filled with local produce, roasted marrons, and that Provençal warmth that makes time slow down.

the Monastère Notre-Dame de Clémence de La Verne is one of the most peaceful places I’ve ever visited. It feels suspended in time - a sanctuary that has burned, fallen, and risen again for over eight centuries.
Founded in 1170, destroyed and rebuilt through fires, wars, and centuries of silence, it was lovingly restored in the late 20th century by a group of volunteers.
Since 1986, it has been home to the Sisters of Bethlehem, who live in solitude, prayer, and devotion.
Their quiet presence fills the air with peace 🤍
The sisters also create ceramics on site: calm, timeless pieces shaped by patience and faith. I brought home a small vase, and I can’t stop admiring it.
