It may seem funny but we took our responsibility to frame some of the works very seriously- and what a line up! On until 31 Jan ❤️
Repost ❤️….Curator Nana Bahlmann introducing the group exhibition ”Seriously.” at our London gallery — on view through January 31.
Conceptual photography is often regarded as self-serious and academic. Yet, since the very inception of conceptual art in the 1960s, many such artists have strategically employed humour to provoke and meaningfully engage the viewer, as well as challenge visual norms. Despite being humorous, this work remains intellectually rigorous and profound.
The exhibition features over a hundred conceptual photographs, print media, and select films ranging from the 1960s to the present, which expose the absurdities of our world and its representations.

There seems to be a lot of ‘white glove’ misinformation (posing) on some instagram framing posts nowadays. So we thought this post is a useful reminder about what is actually best practice when handing art on paper.
🧤 For shiny gloss and certain types of paper white gloves are used but our museum training, as reiterated here, is that for safety and dexterity it is safer to use glove free handling with clean hands 🫶
We were trained by institutions including The British Museum, The Royal Academy of Arts and the V&A Museum but we are always learning and updating best practice- we will post more about best practices in the future and educational during the year ahead ❤️

Wilding, is the first posthumous exhibition in a public gallery or museum of artist, activist, educator and curator Jaune Quick-to-See Smith, enrolled member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes of the Flathead Nation.
The exhibition’s title came from the artist, who from the earliest conversations wanted the exhibition to engage with the history and politics of land stewardship. Smith was as interested in who owns controls and cares for the land in Scotland as she was in land rights in the US, part of her dedication to justice and visibility for Native American people.

In Deemona’s world, late-capitalist logistics and automation merge with transcendence. Supply chains and corporate rhythms synchronise with sacred rituals.
