A few weeks of annual leave have given me the chance to reset, spend time with my closest friends, family and partner, and enjoy settling into my new home.
While browsing the local charity shops, I came across this Vilhelm Parfumerie gem for just £6.
The champagne note feels particularly fitting for this chapter of my life—a small celebration of new beginnings, gratitude, and time spent with the people I love most. For the rest of this week, this will be my scent of the day, capturing memories and becoming another olfactive time capsule from a season I’ll look back on fondly.
Notes:
Champagne, Bergamot, Juniper
Williams Pear, Ginger, Ambrette, Champaca
Musk, Ambroxan, Ambergris, Oak, Cedar

2. Purple Patchouli
3. London

I owned a bottle of this years ago and had completely forgotten how much I loved wearing it until I recently rediscovered it during a visit to
This is such an underrated fragrance — beautifully refined, sophisticated, and surprisingly affordable. I picked this bottle up from for just £25, yet it has the feel of something far more luxurious and niche than many designer perfumes.
Created by, the standout notes for me are rose and patchouli, softened by a delicate powdery iris at the heart. It’s elegant, earthy, dark, and quietly mysterious with a softness that stops it feeling too heavy.
The only downside is the longevity — I do find myself topping it up after a few hours.
Definitely not a fragrance for everyone, but if you love grown-up, moody, refined scents with soft edges, this is well worth trying.

I’ve recently been wearing the new 2026 editions of Armani Sì, and Nude Bloom is the second of the two I tested — as well as my personal favourite.
Immediately, I noticed the connection to the original 2013 Armani Sì, which leaned much heavier into sweet vanilla and tart cassis notes.
Nude Bloom shifts the focus toward the May Rose heart note. It opens with uplifting citrus and the tart sweetness of blackcurrant before settling into a soft, powdery rose with a subtle sharpness that almost reminds me of ink on paper.
The sticky sweetness of the original has been toned down here, replaced with a cleaner woody-musky base that feels lighter and more sheer on skin.
Personally, I prefer this version to the 2013 release. It feels more modern, more wearable, and perfectly suited to the transition into summer.
I also asked a few colleagues what they thought, and the response was overwhelmingly positive — interestingly, both men and women were drawn to it despite the fragrance being marketed toward women.

I’m really enjoying this scent — it’s beautifully feminine, floral, and effortlessly uplifting. The kind of fragrance that feels easy to wear, yet still makes a statement.
The opening is a vibrant fruity-floral burst, with juicy raspberry and a rich, jammy rose taking centre stage. As it settles, the rose softens into a delicate, powdery note, blending seamlessly with the tart sweetness of blackcurrant.
After a few hours on the skin, the composition becomes more subtle and refined. The fruity florals gently fade, revealing soft woods with a touch of creamy vanilla that lingers beautifully.
It feels like the perfect scent to welcome the summer — light, radiant, and quietly elegant.
The bottle is just as striking: frosted red glass paired with the signature Armani stone-shaped cap, making it a standout on any shelf.
Notes: Raspberry accord, bergamot, blackcurrant, iris, rose, vanilla, and cashmeran.

Happy New Year all 😁
My scent of the day - an intensified interpretation of Atkinsons’ iconic flagship cologne, first created over 200 years ago.
It opens with a crisp rush of juniper, bright citrus, and sleek woods, gently spiced with cardamom for an alluring, bittersweet introduction. As it settles on the skin, a scattering of fresh-cut rose petals emerges at the heart, adding lift and vibrancy — like a perfectly chilled gin and tonic enjoyed in early spring.
The dry-down is quietly elegant: skin-soft musk that feels clean, sophisticated, and unmistakably classic.
A beautiful contrast to the bitter cold we’re experiencing right now, this is a scent made for the shift in seasons — and that moment will arrive soon, even if it feels so far away ❄️☀️

It’s the season of indulgence — that time of year when a nightcap turns into perhaps one more… and maybe just another after that.
During the festive season, temptation is everywhere. It’s an inward dance between good decisions and bad ones, restraint and surrender.
The first spray of Devil’s Nightcap presents me with that very battle. The initial damp, mossy harshness makes me hesitate — almost pull away. But just as I decide it’s not for me, the scent shifts direction, drawing me in with soft florals of ylang ylang and orange blossom.
As it settles on my skin, the temptation deepens. I find myself wanting to top it up… and perhaps return to it again later.
’Tis the season of festivities and indulgence — and today, I chose the Devil’s Nightcap. 🍸✨

Last year I finally made it to New York City—a trip I’d been dreaming about for years. I booked a flight, found a place in Manhattan, and set out to make the most of every moment.
Because I knew I wanted a scent to remember the city by, I reached out to Mona Maine de Biran, founder of, to see if she’d be open to meeting for coffee and talking fragrance. To my surprise and excitement, she said yes. We met on my second day in the city, and it was such a warm, inspiring conversation.
While chatting about the brand, we spent time talking about ScentXone—created by Jérôme Epinette and launched in 2022. It’s a warm, comforting blend of honey and cognac, wrapped in the sweet, herbal dryness of davana. The rich, resinous touch of myrrh adds a smoky appeal, before settling into a woody, earthy patchouli.
I’ve owned many Kierin NYC fragrances, but this one will always stand out. ScentXone is the scent that instantly brings me back to that trip—and that makes it extra special.

I had a great time at the event last week at
It was great to meet Claire Sokell Thompson the creative director for Electimuss who talked about two new patchouli fragrances: Patchouli of the Underworld and Persephone’s Patchouli.
I sampled the full range and found 4 favourites, one was Patchouli of the Underworld, a dark earthy scent with notes of leather, styrax and castoreum. The other was Aurora with its intense notes of oud, saffron and rose. Persephone’s Patchouli is another stand out for me with its smooth honey base, a much fresher take on patchouli.
If you’ve not tested the range, I’d recommend trying Imperial, the spicy citrus opening notes are beautiful on my skin and I imagine it would appeal to many people.
It was also great to see some amazing people at the event 😊
And - thank you for taking this photo of me ❤️
