One of the craziest wildlife sightings of my life: a jaguar hunting a yellow anaconda 🐍
Anacondas are a natural part of the jaguar’s diet, especially for populations that spend a lot of time hunting along rivers and wetlands. But interestingly, last year we observed a higher number of anaconda predation events than usual.
What made this sighting truly exceptional was seeing the anaconda coiled around the jaguar’s muzzle while trying to defend itself, a behavior I had never witnessed before!
It was a very quick interaction in a moving boat and I just had a small handycam but this sighting was also beautifully photographed by Bill Masure, and Dan Taylor, be sure to check out their stunning images on their pages as well😍
