Here are some photographs from my series, 'The Other Side of the Mountain'. Georgia is located in a highly mountainous region. The people living in the mountains face extremely harsh conditions due to heavy snowfall and the absence of roads, which often cuts them off from the rest of the world. The population of these regions is declining, as are the unique traditions and lifestyles of the mountain communities. These photographs are not intended to document everyday life, but are an attempt to capture the essence of the mountains.
