This illustration captures one of my grandmother’s key lessons: don’t let outside noise or imposter syndrome stop you from achieving your dreams. My grandmother didn’t go to college and never had a fancy job, but that did not stop her from purchasing a home on a beautiful tree-lined street in Brooklyn.
Her house became the hub for the family. It was where you stayed when you wanted to visit the city or needed a temporary home.
There have been various times when I doubted myself because I didn’t have a fancy salary. I felt I couldn’t pay off my debt, move out, invest, etc. But then I would think of my grandmother and know there was always a way, whether it meant tightening my financial belt, finding a new side hustle, or leaving a job for a better salary.
It’s just one of the many insights she passed down that have been valuable in shaping how I manage money and life.
I’ve worked hard to ensure this book is fun and educational, showing kids that it’s never too early to learn the importance of financial responsibility.
