DEAR ME in the UK..
Twenty weeks of a brand new chapter and honestly, it’s been nothing like I imagined it to be.
I always thought I was confident, sociable, and grounded, but moving from UK to Dubai is testing every version of me. Back home I had my little bubble, the few people I poured my time, energy and deep conversations into and vise versa. Coming here and having none of that has been one of the hardest adjustments. The time difference has also been a killer!
Yes, I “know” people who’ve moved out here, But everyone’s hustling their own lane, building their own thing.
And sometimes, it leaves you feeling like you’re figuring life out alone.It’s overwhelming. It brings out anxiety I didn’t know I carried. And core memories from when I was younger and how I felt moving from Africa to the UK.
These months have shown me how life naturally changes,
some connections stay steady, some become quieter because of routines, time zones & commitments. And in the middle of it all, I’m learning how much of me needs rebuilding in this new chapter. AYAAN leans on me so much more now without the comfort of both sets of Grandparents & Masi, everything falls on me in a way that’s completely different to before.
I’m learning a new version of me in the hardest way possible outside the safe and comforting space I once lived in.
My feelings feel different, my purpose feels different, and the crazy part? I don’t think I even know what that purpose is yet.
Some days I want to disappear offline and keep my world small. Other days I want to share the good, the growth, the adjusting, the messiness of starting over.
What I do know is:
I miss home.
I miss real, unfiltered conversations.
I miss my family.
I miss fmitha beauty glams,and the comfort of routine.
But I also know this..
I don’t miss the –1°C.
And maybe,just maybe,these 20 weeks are shaping me for something I can’t see yet.
Here’s to the uncomfortable middle, and the version of me that’s still unfolding. And I hope you girls stay for this journey whatever direction it takes me in. 🙏🤍✨

This year’s birthday reminded me of how far I’ve come and how much I’ve grown in the last few years.
The kind of growth that doesn’t always look big on the outside, but feels completely different on the inside. The strength that comes from starting over, adapting to new surroundings, and learning to find calm in the unknown.
If you’d asked me on my last birthday whether I’d be celebrating the next one in Dubai not on holiday, but actually calling it home I would’ve said “NOOO, as if!”
But here I was, sat at what’s now my ultimate fave spot for a celebration (slide 14). The food was WOW, everything was exceptional… including the lemon & mint on the rocks 🧊💚
One thing we enjoy so well as a family is a perfect steak dinner, and this one was perfection.
The BEST PART: Watching Ayaan enjoy the same main course as us something I’ll never take for granted. That moment truly made my birthday. 🤍
So if you’re looking for a spot for a special evening whilst in dubai, defiantly add To your list. You won’t regret it!

Over 10 weeks in.
Trying to navigate my mind around this place we now call home.
Lately, it’s been quiet, and quiet is something I’m not used to. Some mums might say, “give me a bit of that,” 🤣 but truthfully, it’s been a strange kind of quiet… one filled with reflection, emotion, and a lot of inbetween feelings.
Some days I wake up ready to take on the world, and by midweek, I’m just trying to keep up with my thoughts. Life after moving has been beautiful, but also heavy at times. New surroundings, new energy, new everything.
I’ve realised how different it feels to start over. My focus has been on keeping my son’s cup full, making sure he feels no voids. But in doing that, I’ve definitely felt a little lost myself with my sense of direction. Not just about showing up online, but showing up in real life. Being present where I am and letting the rest follow.
I know I’ve fallen back on content, especially. Honestly, I can barely keep up with one account right now what made me think I could manage two? 🫠 The DMs still come in with so many questions about life here, how we managed, what areas to look at… and I want to pour into those conversations, but my head and heart haven’t always been in the right place.
So this is me showing up honestly, quietly rebuilding, working with what’s in front of me, with a vision that’s still unfolding and not forcing anything.
A little thank you to the friend & family we have around us here for being that shoulder to lean on when it’s needed most.
