-
A contained and precise enclosure where geometry, material, and atmosphere construct a collective yet introspective experience. The continuous timber envelope regulates thermal and acoustic perception, absorbing sound while heightening bodily awareness. The central stone volume acts as both physical and symbolic anchor, organizing the space around heat as its primary axis.
Steam emerges, rises, and dissolves in a continuous cycle that renders the air visible. In its ascent, it meets the circular oculus above, where filtered light, condensation, and shifts in the exterior climate become part of the interior ritual. There are no views—only atmospheres.
The sound of the gong enters as a deep pulse, moving through the chamber and synchronizing the collective experience, marking the beginning and closure of the ritual.
Without external references, the space becomes a suspended threshold between heat, silence, and matter.
The interior of the sauna does not seek spectacle; it seeks transformation.

-
The sauna manifests as a chamber for regeneration: a contained volume that emerges from the earth and concentrates inward. The entrance is carved into the dark mass; shadow precedes clarity, and the body slows before entering.
Inside, light wood and a skylight reveal a different atmosphere. Fire occupies the center, heat rises, and the body settles between stimulus and stillness. In that interval, Ma appears — the space where energy reorganizes and perception becomes conscious.
People gather around the thermal core and share the same pulse. Heat activates, contrast reorganizes, and rest integrates.
It is an architecture where the primitive and the contemporary coexist: a dark, precise mass on the outside; warm, human clarity within. A structure created by human hands that recognizes the elemental force of the earth and transforms it into conscious energy.
Here, heat is not resisted.
Here, the body is rebuilt.

-
The cabin’s interior was conceived as a space for regeneration.
An architectural device designed to slow the body down, regulate the senses, and allow rest to occur naturally.
Wood, light, and silence create a contained atmosphere where time begins to slow and the body can rebuild itself.
Here, architecture is not only inhabited.
It is experienced.

debe regular, contener y regenerar.
⸻
Architecture must do more than shelter:
it must regulate, contain, and regenerate.
In the middle of the forest, this cabin is not conceived as an isolated object, but as a constructed threshold. Not only a physical boundary between outside and inside, but the point where the body can transition from alertness to rest.
Its geometry is clear and contained. There are no unnecessary gestures. Spatial legibility reduces uncertainty, and when space is comprehensible, the nervous system lowers its guard.
The red volume is not decorative. It is an intentional presence that anchors perception within the landscape. Subtly, it resonates with the cultural memory in which red has marked spaces of transition and protection.
When night falls, mist softens the surroundings and warm, dim interior light creates a gradient the body reads as refuge. The contrast between cool exterior and warm interior triggers a primal sense of safety. Breathing slows. The pulse settles.
This is not just a cabin in the woods.
It is a device designed to regenerate body and mind.
-
In a city defined by low density, the need to rethink how we inhabit and activate the urban environment becomes evident. Just one block from the main avenue, on a lot recently reclassified for mixed use, PECO 85 emerges: a proposal that embraces the intelligent integration of programs and a new way of experiencing the city.
The project is structured around a mixed-use scheme:
— Ground floor: aesthetic clinic.
— First level: eight rentable medical consult rooms within the same professional environment.
— Second to fourth levels: six residential units designed for greater privacy and comfort.
— Fifth level: a roof garden as an amenity and shared space exclusively for residents.
In a context where developments often prioritize density over user experience, at FMA we chose to break that pattern. We are committed to creating livable, functional, and enjoyable spaces, where architecture not only fulfills a program but actively enhances the quality of life of its users.

-
This project emerges from a close reading of the site’s evolution: a formerly residential area that gradually shifted into a mixed-use corridor, where ground-floor commerce appeared in improvised ways. At FMA, we embraced this premise and reorganized the traditional scheme, establishing a clear commercial base with residential use on the upper level.
The façade is conceived as a filter—a lattice that responds to the street’s intense visual noise, allowing natural ventilation and daylight while controlling outward views. The experience is designed to unfold inward, where the project finds its true spatial identity.

An abandoned parking lot was repurposed and transformed into an open-air dining space through an adaptive reuse strategy. The project preserves the remnants of the original concrete structure, integrating them into the design and evoking an aesthetic of contemporary ruin. Vegetation is introduced organically, creating the impression that time and nature have reclaimed the space, resulting in an atmosphere where the built environment and the natural world coexist in harmony.

-
Being connected with yourself means being in tune with the rhythms of the natural environment, allowing calm and serenity to permeate every aspect of your being. Architecture, when in harmony with its surroundings, becomes a vehicle for this deep connection, offering spaces that invite introspection and full presence.
In these places, time seems to stand still, and each breath syncs with the heartbeat of nature, reminding us of the importance of being present and aligned with our environment.
