Instead, if you need to pass the time with a student you could play a game to see who can spot traffic first, teach students how to monitor their instruments and what normal XC numbers look like, practice sharing pilot reports with FSS or ATC, or verbalizing what to do in an emergency. You could even share stories of aviation emergencies/close calls that you have had and what you learned. Regardless of what you do, prioritize safety and look for traffic.
Students, remember that you have a voice too. If at any time you feel uncomfortable, set a boundary with your CFI and politely change the subject.

Skyfarer Academy connects student pilots and aviation enthusiasts with experienced instructors for live online and in-person flight training. Instructair has built a reputation for helping pilots find available instruction through its platform.
This milestone ensures our community can benefit from a broader marketplace, new tools, and improved support for both instructors and students.
As part of this transition, the Instructair platform will be permanently shutting down on August 24, 2025. After that, accounts will be migrated to Skyfarer Academy to ensure a smooth continuation of services.
We encourage you to use any remaining credits and complete all business activities on Instructair before the closure.
