Talavera pottery or azulejos is traditionally a cobalt blue color with a glaze introduced by the Spaniards in the 15th century from Talavera de la Reina, Spain. I searched that town and WOW! On my list to visit!
A few years back I had the opportunity to visit Casa de los Azulejos ( house of tiles) in Mexico City. The 18th century baroque design and architecture is just breathtaking. It inspires me to incorporate tile into our home.
I began embroidering lately to help de-stress. I have no training or expertise but loving this form of artistic outlet.
Fun fact: the word AZULEJO is a Spanish/Portuguese word derived from Arabic meaning tiles and you most certainly will find beautiful tile work around these counties ✨💙🤍✨

Walking through Querétaro’s cobble streets and plaza felt like I was transported back in time. I felt such a strong desire to learn more of the history of each place I have the privilege of visiting. These past 4 years I have had the opportunity to search and learn more about my ancestors and it is my goals to be visit where my ancestral roots lay. My list is Jalisco, Guanajuato, and Aguascalientes.
