I know what I see…gray hair!
Hear me out. Today is hair day for me, which means coloring my roots. I have my hair professionally colored every three weeks. On top of that, I’ll either use a temporary color in between, or use spray to cover the grays in between my next hair appointment.
My natural hair color is dark brown, which I haven’t worn in almost 25 years (other than that time about 15 years ago I had my stylist color it a chocolate brown, and I just couldn’t get used to it). I’ve had to go lighter over the years because of the grays, but truth be told I like the blonde color better anyway.
So why do I do it? I’m sure some people will say why bother, you’re wasting your money, let it grow out, you are getting older. I say my hair…my choice!
I admire women who let their hair go gray. I watch videos all the time of the process some women go through…a year to two, even three years before their hair goes fully gray. And for most people, it actually looks beautiful. And someday, that might be me. But for now, I’m happy with my fresh color every three weeks.
It’s a small price to pay for my happiness!

Another quiet weekend, stayed in almost all weekend cleaning, organizing and recharging. I haven’t felt the need to go out into the world lately, so I’ve been creating spaces at home where I feel most comfortable.
We did have a delicious dinner on Friday, Saturday I played with my new espresso machine, and got in my steps on my new walking pad.
I also started my vision board…I actually started 2! I’ll post both when they are complete! Do you make a vision board?
And of course we watched a ton of football, watching the Patriots win an ugly game last night…but a win is a win!

I’ve found myself wearing a lot of black lately, but it’s a new year so new inspiration!
Pick your favorite color…mine is pink. Then search your closet for some inspiration. In my case, I had hardly anything pink in my winter wardrobe.
Adding pieces doesn’t have to break the bank…I think I spent about $60 for the two sweaters, and I know I’ll make a lot of use of them!

I wish I wasn’t so hard on myself. Every time I look in the mirror I see the extra 10 pound’s menopause has left on me. As someone who has been small all of her life, it bothers me.
About a month ago I went to my endocrinologist and after getting on the scale I knew the doctor was going to mention something about my weight gain.
Well he did, but surprisingly he said “Oh, I see you gained some weight…” I was ready for my come back about how difficult menopause has been, and since starting HRT I’ve gained weight. Before I could say anything however, he said “Your BMI is right where it should be, it was too low before. I think this is your ideal weight”.
Needless to say I should have been happy, but instead, I wrestled with what he said. A healthy BMI is great, but I feel worse than I ever have, and no, it is not my ideal weight.
The usual ways of losing weight for me haven’t worked now that my body has changed (thank you hormones). So I’ve had to make some changes.
I’ve been consistently walking every day, counting steps and making sure I am more active.
I was lucky enough to try the T-Shape 2 treatment It has helped my stomach area tremendously, tightening the skin.
I’ve sized up in clothes when I’ve needed to. I was always against this, but I’m trying to remember I can still look good in a size medium sometimes instead of a small.
I’ve started eating more of a Mediterranean diet, at least during the week. I’m drinking more water, and have cut down on carbs, even though a low carb diet hasn’t worked for me this time.
Lastly, doing things that make me feel good, and buying clothes that make me feel good. This pair of leggings and bra top (size medium) makes me actually feel slim again. The leggings are super smooth, I’m going to grab another pair.
I’m sure this post will resonate with some of you. Turning 50 wasn’t a problem for me, but little did I know, big changes were right around the corner.

Fall definitely is the best season when it comes to fashion. Fall colors, layering, flannels, boots. I purchased this slip dress a few years back, but I put it aside and never even wore it…until now.
Fall fashion tip #1 Look for a slip dress (in your closet, if not, there are several affordable options available). Layer it with a cardi or a blazer, or even a moto jacket. Booties would go great with this look too. Possibilities are endless!
