The project is finally coming under wraps! I’ll be sending everything I still have out when I return stateside in May! This has been an incredibly fulfilling project. This painting speaks to to who we are and what we’re doing here,the battle for what is true and the information to support it being under constant attack. We’re provided with a sense of faith and many reject it.. perhaps even just go through the motions mindlessly, yet, still it persists. We coexist with the idea of a higher power as well as those who denounce it. We’re forced to work to sustain and we’ve evolved to herald the grind. We almost idolize it. Meanwhile, all of these incredible and fantastic developments are happening in the science community. Discoveries and developments range from disclosure that we’re not alone to quantum computing and being on the cliffs edge of a brave new world where we’re able to basically teleport to another part of the universe. AI is seeping into modern culture but our sole focus as society is on how it affects our ability to work… but the implications are so much farther reaching it’s mind blowing.🤯. Most of us can’t be bothered by any of it.. we’re struggling to make ends meet and that’s all that matters.
Well, for the last few years I’ve been on a journey in search of meaning. I’ve uncovered so much about our perceptions, our history. I’ve learned so much about physics (simultaneously nothing at all)and dove head first into drowning withib a sea of dense knowledge. I’m just scratching the surface, but I believe we’ve been duped. Mans purpose isn’t to work til death, it’s discovering the breadth of our personal capabilities. We’re simply not just humans but instead, a wild temple of scientific wonderment capable of dispersing the particles of our meat bodies and transforming into light. I know it sounds crazy, but what doesn’t? That’s what this is about:
information and how it’s manipulated to control you into believing the extent of your capable life is just to toil away.. in exchange you get pleasure.. on repeat til you die. I just don’t buy it and I think it’s been framed this way for a reason. 1984. Thanks for looking!

This painting is representative of the life cycle, both physically and spiritually. All along the way we as a conscious being, has had to work. As a species, we believe we advance the tools of our crafts and evolve.. but what if we’re just recreating an expression this earth has seen several times over? I think of this and how we work and we work. It’s as much of the lifeblood of society as any moral or spiritual advancements..it’s our obsession, an obelisk towering over us. I often wonder why. We obsess because it can supposedly, potentially ease our suffering in this world.. grant us security.. give us some sort of elite access.. access to shit we don’t need.. we’ve come to idolize work.. build massive works to praise the virtue of man and this ability.. grind culture baby.. and while that’s become many of our lives… life’s work.. it’s just a thread of many that ground us to this present moment… and these curiosities outside of work, I think many people hable forgotten how to access.. so this is a painting about that and what’s outside of work.. thanks for looking, I love you.

I’ve always loved the Tex Avery character “Slick Joseph ‘wolfie’ McWolf” and I’ve probably done hundreds of replications. None quite like this.. I think pink panther is probably the coolest of the characters from the era and I’m not sure where the combo came from..: just occurred to me.
I painted this over the last week. It’s been great to be around such skilled people. People with passion and experience. Every day has made me more excited to create… for the time being(and hopefully onward) I’ll be making paintings and doing tattoos.
