INTRODUCING the OFFICIAL Breaking DJ for the 2nd Annual Cross City Cypher happening in the Heart of Downtown Las Cruces, NM: 🔥🔥🔥

Bringing ALL the CLASSICS and THEN SOME to the Cross City Cypher, We welcome Marc Boogie to Las Cruces on June 5th! Marc is a lifelong student and TRUE representative of Hip-Hop culture. Marc has dedicated over three decades to the art of DJing, dance, music, and community. 🙌

Marc began DJing at 15-years old after being inspired by the legendary scratches on Herbie Hancock’s “Rock It.” From there, he immersed himself in turntablism and studied pioneers such as Terminator X, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Tony A, DJ Magic Mike, Mr. Mixx, and the Invisible Skratch Piklz, developing the deep scratching and DJing knowledge that helped crafts his signature style ☯️

Beyond the turntables, Marc has been active in Hip-Hop culture since 1991 through Popping and B-Boying, traveling and battling across the country. In the mid-90s, he became part of his first crew, All Elements Combined, embracing the true spirit of Hip-Hop as a culture built on unity, creativity, knowledge, movement, and expression. 💫

Since 2011, he has proudly represented the legendary “Flava Pheenz” crew from Albuquerque, NM while continuing to mentor and uplift the next generation as a mentor, educator, DJ, Dancer, and cultural Ambassador. His experience across multiple elements of Hip-Hop gives him a unique perspective and genuine respect for the roots of the culture that can be felt every time he touches the decks or steps into a cypher. ❤️‍🔥

Raised on soul, funk, jazz, and R&B, Marc developed a deep appreciation for timeless music and the history behind the breaks that shaped Hip-Hop. That love for music continues to fuel everything he does today and has even trickled down to his two children who practice the elements to this day!

We have some more AMAZING collaborators to be announced! Stay tuned!!!

INTRODUCING the FINAL Judge of our Open Styles Panel for the 2nd Annual Cross City Cypher: 🌙🤖🦾

A true product of the golden era 90s, Sonny aka Dreamer brings decades of experience, culture, artistry, and mentorship to the floor 💫

Born in Dallas, Texas and proudly representing the Southwest, his journey in dance and performance was deeply shaped by his family, especially through the traditions of Matachines cultural dance and the influence of his uncles who helped spark his passion for movement and expression from an early age.

Known for his meticulous angles, hard pops, and robot like animations, Dreamer’s foundation goes far beyond Popping. He studied performing arts under David Gunn and Kimberley Wolfenbarger through the El Paso Youth Opera, developing strong roots in stage performance, storytelling, and artistic discipline that continue to shape his style today.

His movement blends raw foundation, funk, musicality, precision, and cultural influence into a style that is uniquely his own. He has also trained under SCFR legends Poppin Joe and Locksmith.

Throughout the years, Dreamer has been involved with and contributed to countless dance crews, productions, and events across the entire Southwest 🧩

Dreamer helps organize local practice sessions at Yucca Park, creating spaces where dancers of all styles and experience levels can train, connect, and grow together. He also shares his knowledge directly with the next generation by teaching Popping and Animation to those willing to learn and grow!

Dreamer carries deep respect for the roots of the culture while continuing to inspire the next generation. Beyond the titles and performances, he’s known as a mentor, teacher, motivator, big brother to many, and sometimes to some… “dad” 😂

We are incredibly HONORED to host Dreamer as part of this event as he has empowered a lot of us to keep this movement going via his support and mentorship. We appreciate his deep cultural knowledge, infectious energy, and decades of experience that he will be bringing 2nd Annual Cross City Cypher this year!💥🙌
