2016 I bought a one way plane ticket to Panama. Sold my cherry red 2006 mustang and set out to a journey of self discovery. I tracked 6 countries before returning to Guatemala to volunteer as an English teacher to children of Mayan descent with thoughts to continue to set out to South America.
Little did I know that the love of my life, would appear on a motorcycle and charm me with his serious face and dimples that only show when he smiles. I made forever memories and forever friends that are in all parts of the world.
2016 was when I manifested opening my own little business and manifested working with artisans to bring unique one of a kind handmade products for the home.

Finding Vettey started our year celebrating in Oaxaca, Mexico. Visiting our artisan partners to show respect to their family and work. To thank them for allowing us to partner with them and for a great year.
Sadly our community at home were attacked and it brought fear once again to just being who we are, citizens or not. With comments from my children to avoid being targeted “we have to pretend we are not Latino”. This truly broke my heart.
And to finish the year working on a store that will not only allow me to find myself, but everyone find who they are and their connection to our beautiful Mexico when they set foot inside. Our store is coming along and coming soon!
Thank you to all the markets who allowed us to be part of their show. And all the amazing vendor friends that I wish nothing but success to them all and a tremendous growth this year.
Thank you to all the repeat customers who have seen Finding Vettey grow these last five years and saw me at my worse (iykyk I almost quit this business so many times especially this year). And to all the new customers thank you for following and supporting our brand.

Every time I see the finished product I stay speechless. The process from start to finish is so rewarding. From receiving your pictures to getting that message that you love them and you feel like they never left, is emotional and very comforting to know that we were able to do this for you and your family.
We have a few other custom pets in the works and if you are ever interested in ordering one, they are available to order on a rolling bases. You will just have to check on lead time.
To think that this idea came to me when our dear Frankenstein also known as Franky (my brothers St. Bernard) passed away and we created a piece to remember him by, and so many of you loved it only makes us feel like he is still guiding us and protecting us.
