Shaped by the legacy of the Viennese avant-garde — from Klimt, Kokoschka and Schiele to Hundertwasser — Ferruh Karakaşlı’s artistic language carries a profound historical and cultural depth.
Through his formative years working at the Hundertwasser Studio and his intellectual engagement with Alfred Hrdlicka, the artist developed a distinctive plastic vocabulary rooted in color, organic form, memory, ritual and inner topography.
Karakaşlı’s Authentics and Urban Tribes series bring this Viennese heritage of color and rhythm into dialogue with contemporary urban mythologies, offering a powerful field of expression defined by dense figuration and collective memory.

Strong Interest from the French Art Scene
On the opening day, Arije Gallery Paris welcomed a distinguished audience from the European art world, diplomatic circles and the international business community.
Commenting on the exhibition, Isabelle de Marcellus, the artist’s representative in France and former director of SECAM Art Fund, stated:
“With Ferruh Karakaşlı, a new energy enters the French art scene.
The Authentics and Urban Tribes series have generated exceptional interest.” #ferruhkarakasli #arije #paris #vienneseart #vienna
Two landmark events marked Ferruh Karakaşlı’s powerful entry into the European art scene.
On 21 November, a private reception was held under the patronage of H.E. Yusuf Demirer, Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Paris.
On 22 November, Karakaşlı’s solo exhibition opened at Arije Gallery Paris, on Avenue George V, welcoming visitors until 7 December.
Rooted in the Austrian / Viennese avant-garde—shaped by the legacy of Gustav Klimt, Oskar Kokoschka and Friedensreich Hundertwasser—Karakaşlı’s Authentics and Urban Tribes series translate memory, rhythm and plurality into a contemporary urban language.
Paris meets Vienna.
Art meets memory.
Plurality becomes form.#art #figurativeartwork #ferruhkarakasli #ferruhkarakasliart#paris
An era where life is no longer reduced,
where existence refuses simplification,
and where multiplicity is recognized as truth.
Life was never minimal.
Reality does not shrink.
It accumulates.
Humans, animals, instincts, memories, and stars
share the same surface of existence.
There is no hierarchy between species,
no separation between body and cosmos,
no clean border between order and chaos.
What is called “crowd” is not noise.
It is harmony.
What is called “excess” is not decoration.
It is honesty.
Minimalism erased life by simplifying it.
I restore life by allowing it to remain dense,
layered, imperfect, and alive.
This is not a composition.
It is an accumulation.
Reality is not empty.
The universe is not silent.
Existence is plural.

“Dear President Trump, don’t build walls — build unity.
While you build walls, I dissolve them.”
This painting holds hundreds of figures breathing together.
No separation, no borders, no “other.”
Only the harmony of differences.
Some works exist as one image.
This one contains a hundred fragments,
a map of human memory — layered, crowded, intimate, collective.
As a child, I escaped the walls my parents built
and found a world of authenticity,
where nothing was judged,
and everything coexisted.
That world became the foundation of my Authentics Series —
a universe built on connection, not separation.
If you want a Nobel Prize,
you need a Noble mission:
the art of coexistence,
the art of plurality,
the art of the human crowd breathing as one.
art of things…. This is that mission.
This is Authentics.

A key foundation of his artistic identity was formed in Austria — the homeland of Klimt, Kokoschka, Schiele and, most notably, Friedensreich Hundertwasser. During his formative years in Vienna, he had the rare opportunity to work in Hundertwasser’s studio, an experience that shaped his sense of color, rhythm and the “living line.” He later deepened his training with Austrian master Alfred Hrdlicka and at the Salzburg Summer Academy founded by Oscar Kokoschka.
Though widely known as a designer, painting has always been his most intimate force. His works blend figurative and abstract structures with expressionist energy, creating vibrant worlds marked by tribal echoes and layered memories. Urban Tribes and Authentics reflect both childhood intuition and the influence of Viennese modernism.
Today, Karakaşlı stands as a contemporary artist whose voice, rhythm and chromatic architecture carry the spiritual legacy of Austria into the 21st century — from Vienna to Istanbul, New York to Paris. #paris #vienna #austrianart #vienneseart #ferruhkarakasli

1. First Impression – A Golden Wall of Memory
At first sight, the painting resembles a golden relief that shimmers as light moves across its surface.
The raised lines transform into faces, masks, small figures, totems, animal traces, and glyph-like markings.
This is not a simple gold background; it is a memory surface composed of thousands of imprints.
⸻
2. Texture – The Crowd Within
From bottom to top:
• In the lower section, the lines are denser and more compressed → the crowd within us, voices from the past, childhood, the streets, the tribes.
• The upper section is more open and luminous → the same memory purified and softened over time.
There is noise below and a refined calm above.
This is a clear Authentics narrative:
a spirit that passes through chaos but refuses to be trapped in it, rising toward an inner stillness.
⸻
3. Color – Golden Light, Hidden Tones, a Green Signature
• The dominant gold/bronze is not merely luxury; it conveys the feeling of preserving what is precious—as if joys and sorrows are covered with a thin sheet of gold.
• Beneath it lie hints of purple, copper and red → unburied emotions, energy that still breathes.
• The small green area at the lower right is the painting’s “air hole”—a subtle signature that whispers: life escapes from here; the story continues.
⸻
4. Authentics DNA
This artwork represents the “inner archive / inner tribe” layer of the Authentics series:
• Childhood doodles transformed into mature marks,
• The tribal energy of Urban Tribes turned inward,
• All merging on a single golden plate into a memory field that is both personal and collective.
It feels like a golden map suspended between “I” and “we.” #ferruhkarakasli #paris #exibition #art

FERRUH KARAKAŞLI X ARIJE COLLECTION PARIS
L’ÂME DU TEMPS – THE SOUL OF TIME
Paris, 22 November – 5 December 2025
Under the patronage of H.E. Yunus Demirer,
Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to France,
artist and designer Ferruh Karakaşlı presents his new exhibition
“L’Euphonie des Couleurs”
at Arije Collection Paris, George V.
This exhibition celebrates the elegant dialogue between time and art —
between the precision of haute horlogerie and the intuition of contemporary creation.
At the intersection of two worlds,
Arije, Paris’s distinguished Maison of Measured Elegance,
and Ferruh Karakaşlı, a visionary artist who unites art, fashion, and architecture,
transform the perception of time itself.
Set within the luminous architecture of Arije George V,
surrounded by bronze, marble, and satin light,
Karakaşlı’s paintings and sculptural works unfold like silent rituals —
each as precise as a watch mechanism, as poetic as a breath.
Here, time is no longer measured — it is felt.
Luxury becomes silence. Art becomes life.

“My collecting is fueled by the desire to bring together the layers of time and human experience, just as in my own art. I buy a work not merely because I ‘like’ it, but to feel the time it carries, the spirit of the era, the inner world of the artist, and even the adventure the work has lived through. So, one could say that when building a collection, I am essentially ‘gathering the fingerprints of history.’ This feels to me like the art of archiving time, in a sense. That’s why when I own a piece, I also establish a relationship with the idea it represents.”

“I can describe my style this way: Not minimalist, but consciously refined. Not flashy, but glorious in its own right. Not silent, but carrying a deep resonance. Even the stitching lines in my clothes are like a manifesto. They resemble the color explosions in my paintings, but using fabric this time. While every piece carries a sense of ‘measure’ (proportion/precision), there is a powerful ‘spirit’ behind it. The dressing style of Ferruh Karakaşlı seems to be constructed with an architectural mindset.“

Connected Entity No.7 Some vacuum cleaners dress flashier than others…
“Is there any harm in having art within conceptual art?😅
This work reinterprets the ready-made tradition of contemporary art within today’s cultural and emotional landscape.
A mundane object — a vacuum cleaner — is transformed into a ritualistic, symbolic, and anthropological figure.
It ceases to be a household tool and becomes a presence, a totem.
Through color, pattern, and textile wrapping, the machine loses its utilitarian function and gains a spiritual form.
It reflects a critique of modern humanity’s relationship with its “technological gods.”
Machines no longer serve us — they shape who we are.
The cable connects to an object labeled “feel good” — forming not a mechanical, but an emotional circuit.
It symbolizes our dependence on artificial sources of happiness: screens, devices, and brands.
The cable becomes the digital umbilical cord of the modern being.
The surface — saturated with color and symbols — creates a kind of visual archaeology, echoing tribal masks, street art, and cosmic signs.
It mirrors the overstimulated, hyper-coded mind of the information age.
Ferruh Karakaşlı rewrites Duchamp’s irony with spiritual gravity:
he re-sacralizes the machine.
The result stands within the lineage of what could be called post-dada totemism or techno-animism.
“Some vacuum cleaners dress flashier than others” encapsulates the work’s irony and philosophy:
some machines — like people — wear their identity.
Appearance replaces function; aesthetics becomes the language of being.
Ultimately, the vacuum cleaner no longer cleans — it reflects, feels, and speaks.
Connected Entity No.7 heralds an era where art is no longer inscribed on the surface,
but into the consciousness of object #conceptualart #art #conceptual #artwork
