Being invited to showcase photos to share in Gallagher Square, home of the Padres and one of Daygo’s most iconic spaces, as a Daygo baby this means a lot to me. I was asked by with one very clear message, represent the real and authentic San Diego. Goldie, thank you for seeing me 🫶🏽
In choosing which faces to show I considered how important it was to put each and every one of these people in a space like this. Some I know closely, such as my family, and wanted to provide Central American visibility because we exist here, alongside and integrated within our Chicano community, whom adorn the rest of the wall — all authentic and beautiful to themselves. All a part of the real and authentic community of San Diego.
