Firefighters are on scene of a 3-alarm fire in Midtown Manhattan. The fire is not under control, and crews are continuing to work to knock down remaining pockets of fire. Trucks are opening up. More updates to follow on my story.

FDNY units responded to a multiple-alarm fire at a 3-story multiple dwelling on Grand Street in Brooklyn. The fire extended from the first floor to the upper floors and involved significant structural instability, including a rear wall collapse and a secondary collapse at an exposure.
Due to collapse concerns, operations were transitioned to an exterior defensive attack while roll calls were conducted. All members were accounted for. EMS treated three firefighters for injuries, including one member classified as serious.
The fire has since been placed under control. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Shortly before 3am, FDNY units responded to a reported fire at th Street in Queens, arriving to find a private dwelling heavily involved. Due to the volume of fire, crews operated in a defensive attack early, focusing on exposure protection and containment.
Fire conditions made entry and initial searches difficult. During operations, an explosion occurred, resulting in minor injuries to several NYPD officers on scene.
More than 300 FDNY and EMS personnel responded to the incident, with operations continuing for several hours. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
