I can’t believe my body is growing a baby girl. I feel so incredibly proud of her and my little family.
We have everything… and up until last week, everything was going so smoothly. I had imagined creating a beautiful pregnancy series in Greece, capturing this chapter exactly as I saw it in my head. But life had other plans.
Instead, I ended up in the hospital for three days with dangerously high blood pressure, something that can become life-threatening. It became an emergency, and I had to return to the Netherlands under heavy medication.
Now I’m back under close medical supervision, and I’m required to stay at home. She will be arriving earlier than expected.
So from here, I created a small, intimate study instead, of Bruno & myself, a tulip I was given, and a shell from Greece.
Pregnancy isn’t always the story you think it will be. It shifts, it surprises you, it humbles you. But in the end, the only thing that matters is that she and I are safe and healthy.
And somehow, I am choosing to see it as a blessing: I just get to meet her sooner.
