In 2026 not much has changed. I’m about to embark on a new adventure in Barcelona, I turned my food blogging hobby into a full time career as a social media manager and content creator. I’m still travelling the world, wearing lots of the same clothes, meeting old friends wherever I go and eating plenty of gelato.
If I’m still doing the same in 2036, I’ll be very happy ❤️

✉️My favourite Fish & Chip shop in London is celebrating their 10th anniversary and has rolled back their prices to their 2015 to celebrate 🎉
The Mayfair Classic included your choice of battered haddock or hake, a pile of the fluffiest crispiest chips you’ve ever eaten and plentiful portions of curry sauce, mushy peas and tartar sauce. Ive been going for years and it never disappoints.
Not only does Mayfair chippy do the best fish and chips ever, they also have a wide array of champagnes and sparkling wine, we are doing a damp January this year so kicked off with a glass of the Balfour English sparkling which accompanied our starters of my fave and their new juice prawn toast.
Lastly we finished with their new mini desserts of chocolate mousse and lemon tart, the perfect size to finish with a sweet note, as the Mayfair Classic is quite the portion.
The Mayfair Classic offer is available until the end of January at their Knightsbridge shop 7 days a week for anyone who books ahead of time 🙏

✉️ On Friday we were invited to The Mermaid Bar under South Ken. The under the sea themed bar has speakeasy vibes and we arrived just in time for happy hour, where you’ll find £1 Jersey oysters and the most incredible £9 martinis! We tried:
🍸Oyster Martini
🍸Truffle Martini
🍸 Tomatini
🍸 Pomegranate Martini
Each a little different and exceptionally tasty and well priced they paired super well with our our oysters. It being below the Wright Bros there was plenty of seafood on the bar menu including some sensational scallops and pil pil tiger prawns. Service was exceptional from Alfie and the team, save for the next time you need a bar for your next martini night 🍸

Last weekend we headed to The Parlour in the iconic Great Scotland Yard Hotel in Whitehall. This spot is know for its stunning afternoon tea, but you can also enjoy a lovely lunch or dinner there too.
We kicked off with a glass of the house champagne whilst we enjoyed our starter of a Beef Carpaccio with pickled walnut and truffled mayo, and an Orkney Scallop with pancetta, leek and parsley butter. A delicious start to the meal especially when paired with their freshly baked bread and butter.
For our mains we opted for a 32 day dry-aged Beef Filet with fries and a Black Leg Chicken with carrot terrine and orange gravy. Both were tasty and filling.
Lastly we ended our meal by sharing a Sticky Toffee Pudding with Clotted Cream Ice Cream, the ideal way to end a lovely afternoon. If you are looking for somewhere special to go this festive season, is the perfect spot.

✉️ On Friday night we headed to the wine shop, bar and restaurant to enjoy a lovely meal among the bottles. 🍷
A dazzling array of small producer wines available by the glass or even more by the bottle to enjoy in shop or to take home. We kicked off with a very good glass of Prosecco which we enjoyed with a few of their small plates including the Crispy Cauliflower, Honey Glazed Mergez and a Rosemary Focaccia. A lovely way to begin.
Up next next a Californian Pinot Noir and a biscuity Crement de Bourgogne which we drank alongside a a classic Rump filet and Chips. 🥩
We ended our dinner on a sweet note with a Chocolate Fondant with vanilla ice cream and glass of my favourite PX Sherry.
The Islington bar was bustling, and the team were incredibly knowledgable on the impressive selection. Definitely one to save for the next time you need a great spot to impress a wine loving friend.

Last Friday night I took a very handsome man who is not my husband for a romantic dinner in Kentish Town. The small chic bistro oozes classes and elegance and will transport you to the back streets of Paris the moment you step through the door.
We kicked our night off in their cocktails bar which is discreetly hidden in a room behind the restaurant. The signature drinks are tasty and potent. I opted for the Jardin Savauge 18, while my date had the Patron Sour. You can’t have cocktails without a little nibble to accompany them so we also got an East Anglian Oyster each and their 36 month aged Compte. It was the ideal way to start.
After our drinks we headed back to our table to begin our meal. The menu is small and to the point, each dish earning its place after being carefully selected. To start we opted for the Double Baked Cheese Soufflé because how could you not, and the autumnal Charcoaled Fig with Goats Cheese and Candied Walnut. Accompanied with a glass of their house Blanc de Blanc, both were perfectly executed and just enough to leave us wanting more.
Having had my full quota of cheese for the evening we moved on to our mains. You can’t go to a French restaurant without trying the Duck Confit, and as this one has been on the menu for 12 years it would have been a crime not to get it. The wine sauce it was sitting on was so good I would have licked it strait from the plate, and we also paired it with the french beans and confit potatoes to complete the meal.
For our second main we opted for the Beef Bourguignon Short Rib, what a brilliant twist in a classic. The portion was ample for two to share and whilst not as tender as we were expecting the beef itself was full of flavour.
I always like to finish the meal with something sweet and we couldn’t resist sharing the Chocolate Mousse. Rich and velvety it served table side and was the perfect way to end the evening.
An absolutely incredible spot with fantastic service that is well worth the trip to Kentish Town. Being a south Londoner I’d happily describe it as a hidden gem, but I’m sure those north of the river are well aware of its existence.
