This years trip was a special one as I got to take my parents with us to experience the place we have fallen in love with and snowmobile which is something they both love doing and my love of it is from them taking me my whole life! What started as the perfect trip, with lots of fun being had, lots of laughs, smiles & memories made, quickly turned into a nightmare Day 2 when roughly 2 hours into our ride we came upon a junction intersection that none of us saw and my mom tried to make the turn and unfortunately her sled and her launched directly into a tree back first. To say I am traumatized would be an understatement because anyone who knows me knows that my mom is my world and my absolute favorite person and for a very split second my world stood still as her body laid lifeless against the tree in the snow! After abruptly tearing my entire gear off I was able to get to her and see her eyes open but then panic set in because we were 40 mins (by snowmobile) from town. After calling 911 they told us they would launch rescue but couldn’t give an ETA because they were launching from Idaho. Within seconds of this happening a couple was passing by on snowmobiles and they stopped and the lady (Robyn our guardian angel) was a trauma nurse who stayed with my mom until search and rescue arrived and helped them stabilize her and stayed until the moment they left with her on the chopper. Her injuries are very extensive and she has a very long painful road to recover but it could be so much worse, and I am so thankful she’s alive, she’s in good spirits, she’s got great vitals and she’s in great hands of doctors and nurses! Please keep her in your prayers especially over these next couple days as they take her in for 3 surgeries to repair her broke femur at her hip ball joint, plate her extensive rib breaks and surgery to stabilize her L1, L3 & L4. She’s a tough cookie and God has her through every step of the way I know that! He is a good good father!!!
