Gone are the days of long lunches and last orders.

Now it’s a face mask, cuppa or bubbles, and a proper catch-up wherever we can fit it in.

Midlife is all about a constant juggling act between Work, Home, Parents and/or children, and hormones just doing the most. But in all that malarkey, it’s really important to grab time where you can to re-energise with friends and loved ones how you can. And an LED face mask doesn’t hurt.

If your skin is currently saying ā€œabsolutely notā€, this is for you.

My skin has become more reactive as I’ve got older, and I’m having to relearn my skincare routine from scratch. What worked in my 30s does not always work now, especially when it comes to sensitive, easily irritated skin.

Perimenopause definitely brings some interesting twists, and I’m trying to work with the changes rather than fight them. Hormonal shifts, skin barrier disruption, dryness and flare ups have all played a part, so calming and protecting my skin has become the priority.

If you’ve followed me for a while, some of this routine will look familiar, but a few steps have been a pleasant surprise, including the ceramide serum which has been a genuinely impressive and very affordable addition for barrier support ( a Sainsbury’s panic buy that worked out when I’d left a serum at home over Christmas!).

If your skin is reactive, sensitised, compromised or just tired, less really can be more. I’m always happy to talk through what’s helped during this phase.

No one tells you hair loss often starts at the scalp.

This is the first thing I’m focusing on after my hair loss diagnosis. Getting my scalp healthier, calming inflammation, supporting the skin barrier and improving circulation before jumping into anything drastic.
I’m dealing with female hair thinning, androgenic alopecia and seborrhoeic dermatitis in midlife, so this is about creating the right conditions for regrowth and reducing ongoing shedding over time.

If you’re in your 30s or 40s and noticing changes linked to hormones, perimenopause or persistent scalp issues, this might sound familiar. The full video shows exactly what I’m doing and why.

Let me know if you want a follow up to talk about the specific things to support the hair growth itself.

Weekly highlights, beauty nostalgia and a bit of fresh air

New in
The new Easy Bake pressed powder has officially landed! That viral reformulation everyone’s been talking about and yes, that is a MagSafe phone pop socket!

I’ve also been wanting to try for ages, so it was wonderful to receive these beauties to test!

You cannot go wrong with make-up! The formulas are excellent and perfect for the make-up minimalist. I haven’t tried this great skin serum before so excited to see what that has to offer!

And a full-circle one for my NC42 girlies…receiving PR from feels incredibly special. It was my first ā€œproperā€ foundation splurge in my early 20s, so this one is more than a little nostalgic.

Joyful moments
I’m sorry, but how cute are these nails! I love having fun with my nail colour! Let me know if you want the details of the Salon I got this at, especially for any of you Bromley girlies!

A slow working lunch at with; beautiful food and I love that you can see them grow their own produce!

The weekend was spent at, one of my favourite spots in the UK. Fresh air, wildlife, family time, and a much-needed reset.

A heartfelt letter from one of my favourite brand founders was just incredible to come home too after the Christmas break!

Finally back into the swing of reformer! Can’t recommend enough!

šŸ’¬ What would you like a closer look at — the new easy bake, Gen See shades, or a MAC base comparison?

It doesn’t help that I’ve just started season 2 of Nobody Wants This and all they do is drink wine. Which feels like a personal dig when you’re doing Dry January. Damn you Adam Brody.

But seriously, after fully overindulging over Christmas and December in general, I do want to keep a functioning liver, so this January cut down actually matters.

One thing I have noticed already is that my Christmas bloating has almost disappeared. Wild how much alcohol affects midlife bodies, especially that lower belly gunt situation.

Are you doing Dry January, low ABV January, or just emotionally supporting from the sidelines with a bad taste glass of vino?

January exhaustion check.

Am I the only one feeling flat, foggy and quite frankly, bone-tired right now?
This level of post-Christmas exhaustion feels… intense.

The run-up to Christmas is a lot. A LOT.

Not just the fun bits. The juggling. The planning. The parenting mental load, the school admin, end-of-term cluster f^ck, performances, parties, gifts, food, hosting, stepford family expectations, socialising, village parenting, pretending you’re fine when you’re actually running on fumes.

And then January arrives and we’re all supposed to snap straight back into productivity mode like none of that happened. Peak January burnout, honestly.

Has January also hit you harder than expected, or am I gaslighting myself?

Tell me in the comments: does this resonate, or is your January exhaustion showing up in a different way?

Also comment makeup and I’ll send you a list of what I’m using here. A few of my favourite everyday makeup products right now.

Anyone else?

Can this be the year we stop with the inauthentic influencing and fear based commentary online

The world seems to be becoming a colder place with more division and less grace, with too many ā€˜now’ moments driven by the attention economy, over longer term goals and connection.

Now I’m as caught up in a lot of this as anyone; I often find myself consuming more beauty, clothes, and products than I need in a culture of overconsumption.

I’m not perfect but I would like to try and be more conscious and intentional about who I trust, where I spend my money and how I treat others with every passing year.

Conversations about ethical influencing, conscious consumption, and integrity online matter more than ever.

Let me know if you feel the same. What would you like to see more of in 2026?

Who still wants to crawl into bed? šŸ™‹šŸ½ā€ā™€ļø

Welcome back to my first highlights post of 2026. A little reflection feels appropriate.

Christmas + New Year
Sleeping under the Christmas tree has officially become a family tradition. Snowy days, cosy chaos, and a New Year’s Eve spent torturing everyone with my singing. Scroll to the end and bonus points if you can guess the song chose for us. My throat is still recovering.

Most-emptied skincare of 2025
All four of these have been emptied countless times over 2025 and if you follow me, you’ll know they appear over and over again on my feed and stories. Excellent formulas for sensitive skin and maintaining healthy, youthful-looking skin. These are what my skin actually relied on through stress, hormones, and rosacea flares.

Favourite foundations of 2025
Skin-enhancing formulas that are forgiving on real texture and signs of ageing. Let me know if you want a breakdown of why each one made the cut.

Best new skincare launches of 2025
I try a lot of new launches, but these genuinely made the biggest difference to my skin and outperform others in the same category. That stick from is gentle and easy to use. The toner noticeably improves hydration and how everything else sits. The Azelaic acid is beautiful. You know I have a long-time favourite, but this one may be knocking it off the top spot. The Pimple patches extract like no man’s business. Take Back Time eye cream is just outstanding and the day cream is support and protection in one.

Sensitive skin corner
A new azelaic acid mask has just launched and pairs beautifully with the Ectoin cream for rosacea-prone or reactive skin.

Little luxuries
Two beautiful moments from and (pinch me). The Gilden candle scent is intoxicating and may be my favourite ever.

Tell me what you want a deeper dive on next.
