Some times even the pros mess up.
This “blooper” happened when Drew was building a new temp load bearing wall to support the house (yes, THE HOUSE) so we could demo the original foundation and replace it with an up to date (read; up to code and strong enough to hold up a 2 story house) block foundation.
Im always amazed at what can be done to a house. It is truly a thing of beauty to see talented and creative people do what they do best!!
Thank you, Drew K, for being an awesome person, a hard worker and just awesome at what you do. Now we just need to fix your taste in music 🎶🎤

And then you shovel, and shovel, and shovel, and shovel and shovel some more, and then, finally, you shovel a lot more.
We were able to replace the foundation on roughly 75% of this house. This required moving tonnes of dirt (literally, we moved several tonnes of dirt), multiple times! 💪🏻
It took several weeks, but the guys got all the work completed and now the basement is almost pretty. There is still some “skim coating” and cleaning up, but this basement is ready to work, and it had better be, because in 2 days we start adding the new 2nd story to this house.
Did I mention that we also installed an exterior drain system, so if water gets to the foundation of the house, it catches a drain system that funnels the water into the sump pit (which can be seen in the photos), and then the sump pump pumps it out of the basement away from the house/foundation.
This is going to be such a gorgeous home when we finish. And, because of the extensive foundation work we completed, this house will be in the PWSC 10 year warranty program that is generally only for new construction homes.
