🆓 Never Pay For Flights Again
Ive actually flown to Europe on whats about to be my 4th trip and have never once payed for a flight. There are dozen of credit cards out there that give you anywhere from 40k - 100k points as a welcome bonus for meeting a spend criteria within the first several months. Usually the amount is in between 1k-5k in the first 3-5 months of opening the credit card. If you put your normal bills on the card i.e. rent, electricity, water, gas, groceries, etc. most people spend that amount regularly without even realising it. Evaluate multiple offers before choosing the best option. The major things I prefer are $0 annual fee, atleast 70k miles with spending 3k or less in the first 3 months. Most international round trip flights cost 60k-80k points (economy). That means you can have a round trip flight for example to paris for completely FREE if your flexible!
📍Research Your Destinations
You can easily spend $2k+ a month backpacking Western Europe but if your on a budget and looked into some countries in East Europe, Africa, and many parts of Asia you’ll notice that you get a lot more bang for your buck. I spent 3 weeks traveling through croatia, bosnia herzegovina, montenegro, kosovo, albania, north macedonia, and bulgaria all for less than $400.
🛏Check Out Untraditional Accommodation
Hostels are some of the most underrated accommodation options. Not only because there way cheaper than booking a hotel room but you meet so many like minded travelers from all over the world. I’ve met some of the most incredible people in hostels who have later hosted me when I visited their country. Yes you might be a little uncomfortable at first but its like anything else the more you do it the more comfortable you’ll become. You can also book private or shared rooms on air bnb.

Update: Day 77. I’m actually in Croatia even though this post is about Italy. Today my friend Lea showed up and we’re currently on the bus headed to literally the middle of no where but for good reason. The most beautiful park in the entire country is around the corner from where we’re staying. There’s suppose to be waterfalls or frozen waterfalls something like that. I literally would’ve stayed if I could’ve without breaking international laws. I had to leave the schengen zone and there was a flight to Zagreb for 13 euros.
