Ubicada en Mazunte, Oaxaca, Casa Queña es un precioso proyecto de Estudio Atemporal que propone una arquitectura sensible al contexto. Con 365 metros cuadrados de construcción, la vivienda se posa en una ladera que ofrece privilegiadas vistas al mar y a la verde vegetación. Su diseño, en forma de L, articula recorridos fluidos y atmósferas relajadas. En cambio, su gran y contundente cubierta —una reinterpretación contemporánea de la palapa— protege el interior del clima y favorece la ventilación, funcionando como elemento articulador.
El área inferior, franca y cerrada, contiene habitaciones y servicios; por su parte, la estructura ligera superior, se abre al paisaje y aloja las áreas sociales y la suite principal. Un monolito de concreto conecta ambos niveles y culmina en la alberca, generando un punto de contemplación hacia el mar.
