Some close-ups of the cutting process of my last linocut.
Come ben saprete i miei lavori hanno un periodo di gestazione molto lungo e questo non ha fatto eccezione.
Non potevo esimermi però dal disegnare qualcosa di liberamente ispirato a, il corto dark fantasy indipendente firmato da, ed.
Ho avuto modo di visionarlo qualche mese fa e da vero fan del cinema di genere non ho potuto fare a meno di apprezzare la cura e la passione che sono state infuse in questo corto.
Le ispirazioni sono riconoscibili per chi desidera coglierle - da Dark Souls a Lovecraft, passando per Evil Dead - ma il corto possiede una sua identità ben definita.
Il tutto senza pronunciare una sola parola e dando vita ad una storia oscura e suggestiva, in cui musiche, sound design e fotografia diventano i veri co-protagonisti della narrazione.
Probabilmente da questa bozza realizzerò anche una linoleografia, quindi restate sintonizzati e non perdetevi questo piccolo gioiello di cinema indipendente.

As you well know, my works have a very long gestation period, and this one was no exception.
However, I couldn't help but draw something inspired by 'Juggernaut', the independent dark fantasy short by Daniele ed Emanuele Ricci, and Eugenio Krilov.
I had the opportunity to watch it a few months ago, and I couldn't help but appreciate the care and passion that went into this short.
The inspirations are recognizable for those who care to grasp them—from Dark Souls to Lovecraft, by way of Evil Dead—but the short has its own well-defined identity.
All this without uttering a single word, giving life to a dark and evocative story, in which music, sound design, and photography become the true co-protagonists of the narrative.
I'll probably also make a linocut from this draft, so stay tuned and don't miss this little gem of independent cinema.

La mia prima fanzine é finalmente disponibile nel mio negozio Etsy.
A metà tra un artbook ed una zine, raccoglie al suo interno tutte le linoleografie a tema cinematografico che ho realizzato dal 2017 ad oggi, assieme a qualche aneddoto su di me ed il mio percorso artistico.
Un piccolo tributo al cinema horror e "fantastico" in generale e ai film che hanno segnato un'intera generazione.
Un'ottima alternativa se non sapete quale stampa scegliere o non avete spazio sul muro!
Mi sono appassionato al variegato mondo delle zine da circa un annetto, è un universo vastissimo, pieno di opportunità creative e ho mille idee in mente per i prossimi numeri.
Spero davvero che vi piaccia!

A small tribute to horror and 'fantastic' cinema and to the movies that have shaped my generation.
