We just launched our new report - Sheltering Under Pressure: Frontline Realities of Canada’s Violence Against Women Shelters and Transition Houses.

Drawing on our 2025 survey of shelters across the country, this new report offers up-to-date, sector-led evidence on how shelters are operating under sustained strain due to chronic underfunding, aging infrastructure, workforce pressures, and the ongoing affordable housing crisis.

We examine how these challenges are shaping shelters’ ability to provide safety, healing, and pathways to independence for women, gender-diverse survivors, and their children.

With this evidence, we’re calling for sustained investment so that shelters can continue providing critical support to survivors across Canada.

An immense thank you to the Royal LePage® Shelter Foundation™ for funding this research.

We’ll be sharing key takeaways from the report on our social media over the coming weeks. Head to our website to read the full report and learn more: link in bio
