Youโ€™ve spotted Pixie a rare miniature tiger cat springing out of the bluebells and into your phone! They say seeing one brings good luck, just donโ€™t touch her tummy โœจFun fact: she IS the Pixie in the garden is singing about in the audio! ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿงš๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธโœจ

A sea of fairy flowers ๐Ÿ’œ Do you know the folklore tale about the bluebell? Itโ€™s said the blue flowers ring out to warn fairies when humans walk through the woods. Itโ€™s said the fairies like to lure people into their realm, keeping them there foreverโ€ฆ so be careful out there ๐Ÿงš๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ
Just call me Emma with an A because I found a snow queen! ๐Ÿค

This is the first dress Iโ€™ve worn this season by a slow small batch indie brand by Lucy, based in Australia, who Iโ€™ve admired for years for their nostalgic vintage inspired style. It was an unexpected Vinted find last year!
Anyone notice the Easter Bunny looks a little different this year? ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿงบ๐ŸŒทโœจ

Iโ€™m not complaining as she left me a chocolate egg but she turned down a carrot and insisting on Dreamies?!

Disclaimer incase anyoneโ€™s worried: this Easter bunny doesnโ€™t have any interest in sniffing or eating flowers! So sheโ€™s safe to be next to daffodils and tulips when under constant strict supervision.
This isnโ€™t a 2025 life roundup or an achievement post (they stress me out!), instead itโ€™s 12 slow and sometimes magical moments, 1 from each month of 2025, from the perspective of noticing seasonal changes and living slow.

January - The cutest daily door handle visitor
February - Hand feeding the garden Robin (bird flu is rare in Robins but always wash your hands right away from any contact with birds or feeders)
March - A woodland view full of daffodils
April - A delicious spring cake
May - Colourful Azaleas at The Isabella Plantation in Richmond Park.
June - The rose garden at Polesden Lacey
July - Pink roses around a cottage in Shere
August - A quiet moment with Pixie
September - Celebrating sunflower season with cake!
October - A street in Rye, Sussex complete with the largest dragonfly Iโ€™ve ever seen! I thought it was a bird at first!
November - The beautiful oak tree in Shere
December - A candle lit and blown out for the winter Solstice โœจ

I hope 2026 will be kind to you ๐Ÿงก
I fell down a rabbit hole of handmade felt Christmas decoration videos in November, anyone else?!

I still have all the supplies from my time as a textile/fashion student, so I had everything I needed to make some. I made 2 hearts, 2 gingerbread men and lastly a swan. Swipe to the end to see both gingerbread men!

Some people online made 2-3 a day. It took me 2 months to make 5 as an experienced sewer. I had to take breaks between each one as sewing makes my arms hurt these days which is really frustrating because mentally I could happily make one a day. Iโ€™m going to carry on making some slowly at my own pace so maybe next year there will be a few extra to add to the Christmas tree.
Throwback to the year my cat Pixie was smaller than this mini Christmas tree! ๐ŸŽ„๐Ÿพ
I hope you had a lovely Christmas if you celebrate!
I had a cosy Christmas at home filled with good food and good company. We watched The Muppets Christmas Carol and lots of Shaun the sheep!
A winter Solstice reminder for anyone who needs to hear thisโ€ฆ

Today is the shortest day and longest night. Itโ€™s also the beginning of the slow return of the sun. In a few months it will be spring in the northern hemisphere. Light will return and with it new life.

If the lack of light makes you feel gloomy, I highly recommend a SAD lamp to get through the next few months of winter. It really makes a difference for me.

As per tradition in this house all the Christmas tree baubles needed whisker approval from my cat Pixie before they can go on the tree!

A lot of the decorations are from my childhood and a few belonged to my grandparents making them around 70 years old now. Iโ€™ve collected a few now and then too. Itโ€™s a slow living sustainable way to decorate a Christmas tree with lots of cosy nostalgic vibes. Seeing them all again is one of my favourite things about Christmas.

This year I made two new additions to add to the collection. Hopefully I can show you soon!
How I made my Christmas wreath!

If you want a pretty wreath but donโ€™t have a big budget for one, I recommend buying a basic one from a supermarket, mine was from Lidl for ยฃ6.99. I decorated it with foliage I foraged from the garden. If you donโ€™t have access to a garden but are able, you could go out and forage hedgerows and local parks, just donโ€™t take more than you need! There are holly berries, rose hips, and interesting leaves to be found.

After a forage around the garden, I found everything | needed to decorate this basic wreath; all it took was a little while sat on the kitchen floor poking stems into the already-in-place wires before adding the pine cones back on.
