Thank you DC and for the best time! I wish I had more pictures with my people from this weekend, but we were too busy having fun!! Pictures of my food will have to do. Some highlights were:
-Having a warmup buddy!!
-Hearing from the other side of the median as he was heading out to Hains Point and we were about to finish!
-Seeing with 400 to go! Then spending all day together 🥰
-Seeing!! We should coordinate our racing schedules more often.
-Meeting Kodama San at the finish line! (ASICS CEO)
-Seeing at the finish line!
-Being very brave and trying bourbon while chatting with (you can watch this on soon!)
-the Ava sign! I was far too focused to see it with 800 to go, but it’s now one of my most treasured possessions! (Thank you!!)
-THE EEBEES BURGER OH MY GOSH. And thank goodness made sure we got the banana split (and the tea from his date lol)!
-the classic race weekend sleepover 🫶

A month before the event, I thought I could run the record. Then… enter the stress following Atlanta, a nasty fall on a run (that I’m still achy from!), and just enough sickness to be the perfect 🍒 on top! So, Andrew (& from afar!) told be to not even think about it and just enjoy the team experience.
This weekend was more than I could have hoped for, I loved having teammates on a start line again. And it’s amazing what can happen when we mentally let go a little bit. My mom used to tell me to hold dreams and plans with an open hand for God to do what he will. Letting go of the outcome allowed it to happen anyway - while having much more fun along the way 🤠
I’m so grateful because this doesn’t happen without dozens of people in my corner.

In the middle of all this emotion, focusing on gratitude is really helping me right now…
- Gratitude for that the way God has gifted me directly aligns with my passion and that I get to run as a career. What a privilege!
-Gratitude for the overwhelming support from everyone who’s spoken up or reached out.
-Gratitude that I know there are good people working to do the best they can with inadequate rules and contingencies.
-Gratitude that hopefully this will never happen to anyone else.
Don’t get me wrong, I believe all of the athletes involved deserve to walk away from yesterday feeling like the results reflect on not just the effort from yesterday, but from the months we spent preparing. Hopefully, in the middle of all this frustration, we can leave the sport a little better than we found it 💙
