Answering your most asked questions about interval below 👀⬇️💖

What if I’m a “bad runner”?

If you ever want to be a “good” runner, first you’re going to need to be a bad one. FWIW, the only “bad runners” in my book are people who don’t try at all.

What if I can’t run at the speeds you say?

Follow the pattern, not the number. If we’re adding, give your speed a lil bump. If we’re pulling back, pull back. You are always in control! I will say if you follow my pattern and consistently show up to class 2x/week, you WILL get stronger. Period.

Ok but I still don’t want to run at all…

BOOK ALL FLOOR. All floor is the hardest thing you can do it at Studio Three. That’s it. I have nothing else to say.

I’ve never rowed before though…

Well, before you took my Pilates/HiDef/3x3, there were a lot of things you never did before either. TBH, I hated the rower so much when I first started teaching Interval but it has really grown on me the last few months and is low key such a good core workout I have been missing out… and so have you.

BONUS… if you’ve been taking Interval lately and are curious about how to track your progress or improve your sprints on the tread, I have created a full 12 week program to get you to your next level, no matter where you are. Just shoot me a DM and I’ll send it to you! PS — does require you take class 2x/week, LOVE YA! 💋✨
SO MUCH HAPPENS IN A YEAR!

One year ago, I asked my husband on a regular basis if we could move back to NYC. I just felt like Chicago was NOT it and I would never find a place where I fit in.

changed everything for me here and I am so incredibly grateful for joining this community a year ago.

THANK YOU for welcoming me with open arms and trusting me with your time, energy, and bodies. It is a privilege to wake up every day and get stronger with you. This community is so special. Of all my years working in fitness, I have never felt like I’ve been able to make such a big impact for my people like I have in the last year.

As much as I’d like to think I inspire you as an instructor, I hope you know that all of YOU inspire me to show up as my full authentic, silly self on the mic and have fun with you every day. You push me to be the best version of myself and I hope in some small way, I do the same for you. 💖💖💖

Thank you & all my amazing teammates, so proud to be here 💖
If your wrists bother you, I GOTCHA 💖

especially for all my new friends who are showing up and getting stronger in class, I promise nothings wrong with your body — just give yourself grace… and maybe lift a weight or two 👀✨

You don’t have the Sunday scaries, you have the Sunday excities!

What if this week turned out to be full of good things, good people, and fresh energy? ✨

A recent conversation with one of my friends and amazing teammates (hi ) put it in perspective for me how much I lean in to routine to keep my energy free for more creativity throughout the week. The simpler and more grounded I am in recurring things — scheduling, nutrition, training — the more juice I have to give to things that really set my heart on fire. FOOD FOR THOUGHT 💖🔥

If you’re a new pilates instructor, something that is an instant vibe killer for me is a choppy flow.

Sequences should transition effortless from one exercise to the next and feel harmonious. My personal programming check list anytime I teach a class…

✅ Are the props REALLY being utilized? Especially in a big class, the less clutter, the more smooth class tends to go.

✅ Is there a key Pilates principle or movement pattern that anchors everything in class? What is it? If you can’t name it or feel it in the movements, workshop it!

✅ Am I using the FULL space of the room? Can we face both directions? Where will I stand as an instructor to make sure I have touch points with everyone in the room?

✅ What progressions could I add if the room is super strong? What moments could I offer more foundational movements so people feel accomplished?

✅ Does the flow feel accessible? Or did I accidentally program seven minutes of continuous wrist/weight bearing work… lol ok I’m guilty

PS… if you’re a Pilates nerd, let’s be friends please!

Sharing on here what I’ve been sharing in class this week because it’s worth saying twice!! You’re not behind this January if you’re not training for a marathon, preparing to hike Mount Everest or embarking on a big, lofty fitness goal!

Those things are great.

But the whole point of moving your body and feeling strong is so you can show up for the people who matter, so you can dance all night without stopping, so you can have enough energy to take care of yourself. Anything else is just extra.

You are probably already fit, healthy, and happy. Don’t forget it 💘

the Carmela Soprano really jumped out of me when filming this but I said what I said

If you like it spicy, let’s be friends 😈🌶️

I’ve been teaching Pilates for 9 years and received my 600 comprehensive certification in New York City in 2018. I also hold my PMA NCPT, NASM CPT, CFSC level I and too much continuing education to list. I’m a nerd and I love to learn.

No, I’m not a classical instructor. You’re just used to taking ~sculpt~ workouts advertised as Pilates. I’m a contemporary instructor that feels the most aligned when I’m building on classical choreography and layering in inspiration from all sorts of movement that scratch the itch. But you bet your ass I can whip out the classical repertoire and make you WORK.

I love Pilates. But I’m going to tell you to pick up a dumbbell, a barbell, a kettlebell and look hot doing it. I want you to be the strongest version of yourself. And that includes getting outside of your comfort zone.

I was never an athlete, never a dancer, never coordinated in my own body until 21 year old me tripped into a mat Pilates class and the rest is history. I’ve built my athleticism, my strength, and my resilience brick by brick. If I can do it, you can do it too.

Welcome to my rodeo, giddy up 🤠✨

PS my in person class schedule is usually posted in stories or shoot me a DM if you wanna work together 💖

You’re here just to look a certain way. You can scroll in 10 seconds and find 10 other Pilates instructors who will be happy to coach you about having washboard abs or a “snatched waist.” I’m here to make sure your core is functional. And strong cores come in all shapes and sizes.

You’re not ready to slow down in class. If you do two reps and throw in the towel because you ~can’t find the burn~ or you think single leg toe taps are beneath your athleticism, I’m not here to convince you otherwise.

You’re going to do a completely different workout from what I’m teaching. A little modification or an extra razzle dazzle here and there is always fine by me. But if you’re doing your own little gymnastic routine in the front row, ffs just book a private.
