I’m lucky to live so close to one of the most unique spots in Wisconsin. Every May, opens back up for the season, and people come from all over Minnesota, Wisconsin, and beyond to experience it.
If you’ve never been, it’s a wood-fired pizza farm tucked into the bluffs of Nelson, Wisconsin – think handmade pizza, open-air seating, live music, and some of the best views in the Midwest. It’s one of those places that feels like a hidden gem, but also somehow everyone knows about it.
Opening weekend is this Friday through Sunday, and it’s always one of the busiest (and most fun) times to go. Expect a crowd, come early, and plan to hang out for a while – it’s not a quick in-and-out kind of place.
If you’re looking for a weekend trip, a scenic drive along the Mississippi River, or just really good wood-fired pizza, this is it.

Last year at this time, I rang the bell after my last radiation session to signify the end of active cancer treatment. I didn’t cry right away because I didn’t want to be a sobbing mess for pictures, but as soon as they were done I felt all my feelings. All the emotions that had taken place over the past 11 months – from diagnosis through chemotherapy, a mastectomy, and then radiation. I still probably haven’t processed everything fully, and that’s okay, because survivorship is its own journey.
Celebrating one year NED feels pretty darn good ☺️
