🙋🏼♀️ I used to be one of them. I’d start every year with vague goals & a vision board, then I’d hit summer feeling behind, burnt out, over booked, and not feeling like my services were priced to my value and time.
🪄Here’s what changed everything: treating January like my business planning month. Not in an overwhelming way, but with 4 simple rituals that set the tone for the entire year.
🧼CLEAN: Clear out the physical and digital clutter. Sell old gear, deep clean your equipment, organize your hard drives. A fresh start begins with a clean slate.
💻AUDIT: Review last year’s work with honest eyes. What performed well on Instagram? What shoots lit you up? What’s missing from your portfolio? Use the data to guide your next moves.
🔮DREAM: Make a list of 6 styled shoots you want to create this year. Moodboard them on Pinterest. Map out when you’ll actually shoot them based on weather and your schedule. Then put the first one on your calendar.
📈UPDATE FINANCIAL STREAMS: Set real income goals for 2026 using this formula: (2026 expenses + desired income) ÷ 12 months ÷ number of shoots per month = your session price. If the math doesn’t work, adjust your pricing or your shoot volume.
