Maybe you didn’t even know they were open to travelers, or what made them worth visiting in the first place 🙇🏻♀️
That gap between perception and reality is exactly why I share these places.
One of the most fulfilling parts of my work is hearing, “I had no idea this place was safe/beautiful/accessible,” andeven better, “I booked my trip.”
Because travel is one of the most powerful tools we have for unlearning bias 🙌🏼
I’ve learned that accepting other cultures starts with accepting how little we actually know. The headlines we see are always incomplete. The narratives are one-dimensional. And the world operates in shades of grey.
It’s uncomfortable to admit how much we don’t understand about places we’ve never been. But that discomfort is necessary and it’s where empathy begins. It’s where we learn to be kinder and more accepting, and the world becomes a better place.
Question what you’ve been told and stay curious about what you haven’t seen.
Some of these photos are from old trips so theyre edited poorly haha but at least you can see some progress 🙆🏻♀️

• No traffic light. One time, the capital city of Thimphu installed a traffic light at a major intersection and the locals disliked it immediately!
• The world’s only carbon-negative country. Their constitution requires 60% forest cover forever.
• Happiness > money. Bhutan measures its success with Gross National Happiness, not GDP.
• It is know as the last Buddhist Kingdom because spirituality is and the government are intertwined.
• the phallus is a symbol of fertility, protection, and good luck. Not seen as taboo at all!
• One of most challenging airports to land at. Only a handful of pilots are certified to fly into Paro.
• Intentional tourism and a daily sustainability fee protects culture and nature. This makes Bhutan one of the most exclusive and expensive visas in the world.
• No billboards anywhere!
Highly recommend for your travels to this incredible country!

A few other other notable moments that didn’t make the carousel:
☁️ During cocktail hour, the lights at mimicked a Dreamliner cabin’s hues, designed to ease jet lag for passengers on long-haul flights.
👩✈️ All the staff wore custom “Jelona Airlines” pins and cabin crew accessories.
🍾 Airplane bottle opener party favors for guests to take home.
🎙️ Our MC made “passenger announcements” guiding guests to cocktail hour, reception, and beyond.
🩰 We hired to choreograph an entire program: cabin crew ballerinas welcomed guests, rolled out a custom trolley with champagne, and performed with paper planes printed with our very first DMs and texts.
Let’s be honest, when airplanes and travel are responsible for your career, your relationship, and nearly a decade of adventures, you don’t really pick a wedding theme … the theme picks you ✈️🤣
Weaving these little details into our day was a reflection of our story and it was so much fun watching it all come to life!

I’ve lived many lives in one, and this space has grown with me.
If you’re new here, welcome 🫶🏽
If you’ve been here a while, thank you for growing with me.
If you’re here for travel with depth, culture with context, and a softer way of seeing the world, you’re in the right place.
Ten years ago, I started documenting my journeys as a full-time corporate finance employee traveling over long weekends. What began as documenting my personal travels slowly became a career, a business, and my voice.
In my professional work, I show you some of the world’s most exclusive places and experiences. My work is a mix of things: consulting for big companies, producing social campaigns, and creating content for hotels, airlines, tourism boards, etc. Growing and optimizing my channels, selling guides, building out, running group trips, and figuring out the rest.
In my personal “passion” work, I humanize places that people misunderstand. Curiosity is my compass.
I am a global citizen driven by a commitment to make a positive impact on the world. I firmly believe in the collective power to reshape global narratives. By doing so, we not only provide a more accurate portrayal but also center the people and places often reduced to stereotypes and headlines 🙌🏼
I remind myself every day that travel is a privilege, not a right.
I don’t always get it right. And sometimes I get caught up in the “constant output” nature of social media. I am more self-aware now, though, and I’m here to keep learning. Keep creating. And to keep telling stories that bring people like you closer to the world, and to each other.
Thank you for being here with me. Tell me something about you! 👇🏼

Our welcome party took place at, a pastel colored castle just outside of Paris. The bridal suite was simple yet elevated. Exactly how I’d have it if I were a princess in that castle 😌
I stood there looking out over the gardens and my mind was suspended between excitement and nerves.
Looking back at these photos, I realize how many of the small details I would have forgotten if they hadn’t been captured 🥺
I wanted to wear something majestic yet ethereal … romantic, and a little bold. This gown by Ukrainian designer felt perfect. I knew it the day I tried it on. It was light, easy to move in, and transformed with detachable sleeves for a second look.
These were the moments of stillness. Anticipation was in the air. The moments that were quiet before the beginning of a new chapter was about to begin 😊🤞🏼

In the Jiangxi Province there were historic village homes dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. Along with thousands of ancient camphor trees, the homes were supposed to be demolished for a development project.
A decision was made to preserve them.
For over a decade, the homes were dismantled and relocated 700+ km to Shanghai. They were rebuilt brick by brick and the camphor forest was replanted tree by tree.
Now it feels peaceful and effortless. But Amanyangyun required an incredible amount of patience and craftsmanship.
I suppose the name reflects this story.
Aman means peace, and Yangyun means “nurturing the clouds,” a classical Chinese philosophy tied to caring for what is intangible.
Self-cultivation. Inner peace.
With each luxury stay, I find myself valuing peace, minimalism, and a slow way of being more than anything else 🫶🏽

Yangshuo is a resort town located about an hour and a half from the city of Guilin. If you only have time to go to one, make it Yangshuo 🙌🏼
is arguably the best hotel in the area. It’s set in a former sugar factory and the level of quality matches the stunning landscapes. Available to book on 🤝🏽
We booked a multi-day tour with. I can’t stress enough how helpful it was to have a local, English-speaking guide. Mainland China is not an easy place to navigate as a foreigner, so the best investment you can make is having a local guide to drive you around. (mention my name if you book with them!)
Admittedly, many of the locations below don’t have easy pins, so you’ll need to either show a local driver or book the guide we had to take you there.
* Sunrise at Xiangong Mountain or Damianshan (less crowded but requires a hike)
* Walk & shop in West Street (Xi Jie)
* Coffee at Cave Coffee (name: 地心探索咖啡馆)
* Bamboo rafting on the Yulong River
* Lunch & afternoon tea at a local farmhouse (name: 相月庭)
* Sunset at Yangshuowan or Qianlijiangshan
* Watch the Impression Liu Sanjie Show (ticketed show)
* Watch the Golden Dragon Parade (free admission / paid for better view on the bridge. Best confirmed through a guide or your hotel).
Have questions? Let me know in the comments!

Paro, Bhutan 🇧🇹
Only a few qualified pilots are allowed to land a commercial plane here and is the national airline & flag carrier (one of two airlines cleared to land at Paro) ✈️
Paro Airport is located in a Himalayan valley at an elevation of over 7,000ft, and is surrounded by mountain peaks that reach up to 18,000ft.
There’s no radar guidance, no instrument landing system, and no straight-in approach. Everything is flown manually, and using some visual references on descent through tight terrain.
To land on Runway 15, the aircraft goes through a series of high-banked descending turns, and the final turn happens just seconds before aligning with the runway, which only becomes visible in the last few hundred feet 🛬
The landing is on on a runway that’s just 6,445 feet long (or 7400 according to other sources) and at high altitude, so theres little margin for error. Add in unpredictable valley winds and sudden weather changes, and it’s easy to see why flights are restricted to daylight hours and clear visibility only.
Pilots are specially trained in visual circling approaches, terrain awareness, and aircraft performance at high-density altitudes.
For avgeeks, it’s the ultimate bucket-list arrival 🤩
Drukair connects Paro with major hubs around the world, including Bangkok, Singapore, Delhi, and, most recently, Dubai, twice a week … bringing this bucket-list landing within reach of more travelers.
Ready to fly into Paro? 👀
Special thank you to our local tour operator 🙌🏼
(We received permission from Drukair flight opps & marketing team far in advance for cockpit access to document and share this journey with our audiences)

said to me as I stood there, listening cluelessly.
“I know that in Antarctica, the penguin brings a little stone to his partner 🐧 So I think it’s my turn to give a stone to you.”
And then it hit me.
Well, not really.
I realized what was happening, but it felt surreal. The only words I could blurt out were, “You’re joking!”
And just like that, in less than a minute, I made a lifetime promise to my best friend 💍
Time, they say, stands still in moments like these. And for me, in the middle of massive glacier Antarctica, it truly did 🥹
Nothing could have prepared me for this moment 🙈 I was completely shocked and overwhelmed - even after years of learning to understand my own emotions, this experience was unlike anything I’ve ever felt.
I love you 🤍🐧
Thank you for bringing this moment to life 🙌🏼
