last christmas our little won was just a secret in my tummy and this christmas he’s 6 months and forever the greatest gift we’ve ever received.
we’re grateful to be his fun mommy and cool daddy. and the atlanta in me is grateful he got his first santa mall pictures. 🤭🎅🏿 (korea could never 😂)

in korean culture, 100 days (백일) is a special milestone. back in the day the infant mortality rate was so high that surviving the first 100 days was considered a true blessing!
traditionally, babies weren’t taken outdoors until after their 100th day (so different from America!). since this summer was so hot, staying mostly inside wasn’t too hard… I lowkey did get scolded by an ajumma in a flower shop when I went out with baby j before his 100 days tho. 😅
but here’s the wild part, if you do the math, a baby’s 100th day usually falls on their conception date. so this time last year i definitely was like, “oooopsies! well if I get pregnant then it’s God’s plan,” and just shrugged it off. now here we are, exactly one year later, God’s plan. ✨
p.s. i promise he does smile (last picture is proof) he just was NOT feeling his little hanbok + pictures and he wanted to make that very clear. 😅
what started as an evening in the back of a taxi in my feelings, had me redownloading and led to me instantly matching with a “savage won”… the year was indeed ‘21, but there was no actual savage, instead a, issa forever ting. 💍
somewhere in that spontaneous move 7,000+ miles away from home to korea (for what i thought would be just for a year) and after being single for the entirety of my 20s, the alignment of everything God set in place in my life is what led me to my bestie seoulmate. 💃🏾❣️🕺🏻
p.s. funny how last year’s anniversary i posted the last picture… and a year later (in just 2 months) we’ll get to see how accurate that AI picture actually is. 😂🫃🏻🩵
