I was shooting 30+ weddings a year and traveling for engagement sessions on top of that, plus shooting interiors and brands during the week. And the editing, oh my don’t even get me started! I knew something needed to change. I was missing out on too many moments with my 1 and 3 year old girls and even scarier than that, time was just moving at warp speed because I never stopped moving.
I really had to take a long hard look at what my definition of success is. For me in this season that looks like being home most weekends with my family and only photographing a handful of weddings per year. I’ll be shifting even more towards interiors and brands this year (hello normal business hours and not having to wait for golden hour)! And of course I’ll always photograph your family, because it brings me so much joy to see the same clients year after year. I stopped booking 2026 weddings about 6 months ago because I made the commitment to myself to only take on a very small amount and I had reached that quota. I’m really looking forward to those 7 wedding weekends this year instead of approaching it from a place of burn out.
It’s ok to change, reevaluate and pivot, so here’s to saying yes to the things that matter most in 2026! Thank you all for your support and encouragement through it all!
