🇬🇧 Project completed! The fun yet challenging part of this project was that the house still had to be built. So, figuring everything out based on just a floor plan and the client's wishes—who didn't really know what they wanted either. They found color quite intimidating, yet they really wanted more color, while still maintaining a sense of calm. They are absolutely thrilled with the result, and so am I! Do you like how it turned out?

Ca. 25 stuks vlierbloesem schermen/elderflower heads

1 citroen/ 1 lemon
.
1 kilo suiker per liter water/ 1 kilo sugar per liter water
🇳🇱 De vlierbloesem voorzichtig uitschudden zodat eventuele beestjes eruit vallen. Let op: niet onder de kraan afwassen!
Doe de vlierbloesem in een grote pan of bak en zet net onder water. Laat dit 24 uur staan.
Zeef het mengsel door een fijne zeef. Vang het vocht op. Gooi de bloemen weg. Meet af hoeveel vocht je dan over houdt. Per liter vocht weeg je een kilo suiker af.
Doe het vocht met de suiker, schil van de citroen en het citroensap in een pan en breng dit rustig aan de kook. Laat dit rustig pruttelen tot alle suiker is opgelost. Verwijder de citroenschil, zeef de siroop nog een keer en giet het in een schone weckfles en sluit af.
Bewaar de siroop op een droge en koele plek. Na openen bewaren in de koelkast.

Place the elderflower in a large pot or bowl and just submerge it in water. Let it steep for 24 hours.
Strain the mixture first through a fine sieve. Collect the liquid and discard the flowers. Measure how much liquid you have left. For every liter of liquid, weigh out 1 kilo of sugar. (I had to use dark sugar as I did not have enough white. Therefore it looks like Ice tea 😂 but it doesn't make a difference for the taste)
Place the liquid, sugar, lemon zest, and lemon juice in a pan and bring to a gentle boil. Let it simmer softly until all the sugar has dissolved. Remove the lemon zest, pour the syrup into a clean glass bottle or jar, and seal it tightly.
Store the syrup in a cool, dry place. Once opened, keep it refrigerated.

🇬🇧 Today is my sweet, beautiful youngest daughter's birthday, 21!! I can't believe how time has flown by. But oh I am so proud of her! And what a great feeling is it when you know everything is going well, that you have done a good job as a mom and that you need your child just as much as she needs you. We are equal now. She is independent and wise and our relationship is so good. I am a proud and happy mom.
